i liked the michelin pro2 race but they just got cut up too easily. the lithions were like a more durable version. i liked them too. then rubino pro 2 came by and hallelujah. i still haven't tried the rubino pro pro 3 because i got a few pro 2 at a good price spare.

I just can't get myself enthused about tri stuff. I'd probably have to partner up to actually follow a training schedule for them.

The schedule is what keeps me going. I don't do well without some kind of structure. I'm just struggling with swim right now, so I'm not as enthused about getting into the pool.

My run is improving quickly, so I'm loving that piece. Lol!

Potentially a new ride for me by the end of the year. Not the exact bike, but same model.

Just peeking in. I bike and commute all winter long so nothing new.

My son is improving on the road bike and has been climbing faster in spite of a 20+ lb bike.

Did really well in Gymnastics. Overall Level 5 champion for the New Mexico Judges Cup. 6 events, 3 1st. 3 2nd. 89.05 out of a possible perfect score of 96. I am proud.

Since I suck at this sport might as well live vicariously through my children.

If you remember what that web site you sent me to said. Anyone can run, so just train and you will improve. The swim takes form.

My swim is coming along slowly as well. It is starting to come back to me after 25 years (when I was a teenager, I would swim 1-2miles 3-4 days/wk)

Hey coasting,

Tomorrow is Pearl Harbor Day. Will you be watching the film to commemorate?

I honestly don't know how triathletes do pool workouts alone. When I was supposed to do workouts alone for a week I almost never made it through the entire workout that was scheduled, I usually shortened/cut some sets out. Even when we were tapering it was still hard to get the entire workout in.

With teammates was another story, but we had all kinds of shenanigans going on. Lot more interesting that way.

It gets so frustrating!

For the time being, I'm going to use the kick-board and buoy so that I can get my confidence back. I'm going to try and hit the pool at least 3x a week.

A wise man once said that swimming is dumb.

This is just my opinion, but to make swimming more fun, you need to work a lot on form first, not speed. Get the form down and the confidence while swimming will go way up.
I have not swam since high school, but the best times were after improving form the most.

That's the point I'm at. There is no speed yet...

No kidding. Two minutes in deep water and I feel like I'm about to die.

swimming is all about technique and the best time to learn it is when you are little. it is much harder for adults to learn to swim. i remember swimming regularly at age 5. I remember swimming club at age 7 onwards. even at my most unfit and total lack of exercise for years, i had a race with a very fit sporty guy for 2 lengths of a 25m pool. i beat him by half a length. all technique.
