Mr. TS was already good at sprinting, so he didn't gain any speed over distances until he *stopped* sprinting. He'd go run full out, but didn't improve. Then he followed a training program that had him do everything under 75% HR, and while it was hard to go so slow, his time (over long distances) started dropping. There were still shorter distance interval days, but no wind sprints or puking.
Still can't climb

Intervals do no good if you don't have a strong base, sounds like VG has a strong base, and I'm sure she knows how to pace herself on the longer distances.

If you make that statement in A&S, you might get banned.

Way better than a treadmill.
Well... for the first half of 2010, I was often so sick that getting out of bed was an utter struggle.
Every second I'm running, cycling, whatever, I couldn't be happier to simply have the chance.
And when you're running here, how could you not just keep thinking life is good?

Most of the ABATE crowd are anti-helmet and sound regulation laws. Some join for other reasons, local advocacy and whatnot. It depends on the chapter and location.
(Still talking about motorcycles) It's still shocking to me that people think wearing a helmet can make injuries *worse*. I know of a guy who had a brain injury from a crash while not wearing a helmet who is convinced he'd be dead if he *had* been wearing one.

In the case of the guy above, I think he's convinced that helmets are heavy and will snap your neck. That's a popular piece of misinformation.
They are sometimes the cause of broken collarbones, impact from the chin bar on a full face. Well, maybe not the "cause" but it can get in the way. Me? I'd rather have a broken collar bone than a broken face.
