Bikes: everywhere

Only about 45 miles and no categorized climbs.
I like how mapmyride puts the ellipses at the end of this sentence:
"We are sorry but none of the climbs on this route meet the threshold for detailed analysis... "

Still an awesome ride, though.

The ellipses are a nice touch. The important part was that you had fun. I sometimes get jealous of the lowlanders, who have a choice of whether to climb hills or not. For my terrain, every ride is a journey, I never get to put around and take it easy. That makes it hard to stay motivated sometimes.

I think it would make sense to call beets beetroots if the greens were the more commonly consumed part of the plant, or at least eating the greens were somewhat commonplace. Perhaps they were at some point. I've never tried beet greens. Who knows they might be good.

The only root vegetable greens I eat a lot of are turnip greens. Mmmmm good!

There was recently an interesting debate between friends on Facebook concerning the worst Tri-Met bus.
#9 seems to have been deemed champion.
My favorite comment:

"I have to take the #9 at 9am AND at 6pm or 10pm, 5 days a week- worst bus ever! Always crowded, always filthy. One seat this morning had a pile of vomit in it with a piece of paper on top of it that read "DO NOT SIT HERE". And yet I watched 3 different people sit there. Even worse than the #72- which I affectionately call the "clothing optional" bus. Used to ride the #15 all the time when I lived by you Joel- it's got NOTHING on the #9, trust me."

My vote was for the 72. I guess I'm lucky not to have spent much time on the 9.

OMG! Some weird comments have showed up since I last looked:

i always hated riding the 6 going out of downtown at rush hour. the worst was the day the driver had a live rabbit ducked taped to the front pole in a box. he kept talking about taking it home to kill it and skin it. (rabbit slamming itself against the box to get out) and this was only a backdrop to the usual customers on the #6 rush hour bus. i know it's not piss or vomit, but it was still highly disturbing

I swear I'm not OCD but I ride the T with gloves if I'm going to hold onto the bars/straps. Otherwise I just lean against the door so i don't have to hold on.

Fun fact: the kitchen sink is one of the germiest places you routinely come into contact with.

Should you take anger management for episodes in dreams?

I dreamed that I was taking a test were you had to roam about and examine items at a number of exhibits. My problem? I couldn't find any paper to write on. I tried writing on some napkins with a dull pencil and it just ripped them up.

I started getting really agitated because people were already finishing the test and I couldn't even get started. I got mad because I was going to fail.

Nah, you're probably just short on office supplies. Buy a pad of paper, next time you're at the store.

Don't paper over the problem.

I am going to glue a cx tubular this morning then go for a mtb ride on a borrowed bike. I had my alarm set for the group ride at 9 and slept through it. F.

You are obviously stressing over the February mileage challenge. You are worried that your creaking bike won't hold out until next week.
