Good bosses are hard to come by unfortunately. However, good employees aren't exactly a dime a dozen any more either.

Probably a Garmin 60CSx. Funny... FedEx came today and delivered the mount and the wife and I had a misunderstanding. The conversation went something like this
"What's that?"
"A bike mount for a GPS"
"Ohhh man that's what I was going to get you for your birthday"
Turns out she meant a Garmin Edge 500 and that she thought that's what came today.

Razor, while I agree that it's your boss's responsibility to keep track of the hours so he'll know how much to pay you, if you didn't work 30 and you know it, then taking pay for 30 is not right.

Hard to tell from the tiny pic, but if that's the lowend Maverick, here's NOS for $199

Ahh, no disc there. That red one's probably mid-range.
I'm still scared. The Maverick 3.0 has Promax brakes. My Trek 4000 has Promax Vees - chintzy!
I think you're better off running midrange V-Brakes than low-end disc. And those forks, yuck. Rigid forks are usually better than cheep sproing.

How about this?
On 16 February I mused about seagulls I saw while out riding.
Today TV News did a piece on said birds, with video shot along the road I rode.
Velo Vol is nine days ahead of the news!

Here, the gulls fly in from the coast when a bad storm rolls in. I'm guessing they just fly upriver. They hang out for a day then think "this sucks" and fly back out to the coast. I saw lots yesterday but none today. Oh, and riding the roadbike on dry pavement after a couple MTB rides in snow is almost TOO FAST! I was skeered.
Freaking 1.5" of snow tonight and of course they salted the crap out of the roads in time for my ride tomorrow. It FINALLY rained today washing all the old salt off the roads and melting the last of the snow. GD.
Given that I can only identify about five species of bird, that would be a pretty boring blog. Possible entries:
--Saw three robins on the lawn
--Blue jay scolding angrily
--Hundreds of black birds milling about the pasture
--Cleaned poo off the car.

I like it when mocking birds sound like car alarms and police sirens.
