My wife used to store a big pot with a wooden handle on it in the stove. I turned on the stove to preheat it for a frozen pizza. Burning wood does not always add a good flavor to pizza.

No teapot here either, but I still have the wherewithal to boil a small quantity of water without a microwave.

I'm more of a stickler for water temp for tea, maybe I should get picky about time also. about.com sez boiling water's fine for black, but I like to start the steeping around 200° F, personally.

I've been working on my favorite methods and temps for cowboy coffee also. I've found it should never boil for more than a few seconds (preferably no boil at all) or your coffee's wrecked. I'm still undecided about the more intensive process of adding grounds to pot while water's cold, then bringing them up to temp or the much easier boil pot of water, allow to cool to brewing temp, then add grounds.

Aliens FTW!

In other news, it was a nice day all day. Most of the pavement was even dry. Of course about 20 minutes before clockout time it starts drizzling. I had grandiose plans of conquering the local catégorie 5 climb on the way home, but meh, maybe not in the rain.

I had a nice ride today, primarily endurance zone with some threshold zone on climbs.

Nice LowCel. Third peak looks like a killer hill.
