Woke up at 4am and can't hear out of my right ear. Eff. Not worth a trip to the ER and urgent care places doesn't open until 9.

you know those fizik saddle bags that clip onto a fizik saddle? is it possible to get straps for them? they have a loop on the side so i wonder if that is an option. if so i can use it on more than one bike.

I did not realize it had snowed here until someone on facebook posted about not having a 2 hour delay.

There's a light dusting outside.

I have nothing to add on this stupid thread, but I'm trying to light up the board with Patentcad this morning.

pcad and coasting, you guys are both old: ever have ear wax buildup? Trying to amuse myself with e-diagnosis since the GP's office doesn't open for another hour.

Yes, once, and never since. Debrox and a flush bulb with warm water. Go see the doc, though. This could be more serious than wax.

you'd be surprised at what eventually comes out of the ear with a thorough cleaning.

i heard a doc on the radio talking about this. he said that syringing the ear is not often necessary but it is done rather a lot because elderly gentlemen seem to like the sensation of ear syringing. They pour olive oil into your ear to soften the wax first. I bet datlas/ruokie love doing that.

I have my nurse do the flushing, patients LOVE you when you unclog an ear.

The drops generally contain gycerine which softens the wax. Not always necessary but some folks have very dry wax that is not easily removable.

Quel, you should have your ear checked before you go flushing it out, you may have an infection or other cause for your hearing loss.

Interesting ear wax factiod of the day: Most caucasians and africans have "sticky" ear wax, while most asians have "crumbly" ear wax.

Thanks. Doctor doesn't open for a few more minutes, so I can't call yet. No pain. I used olive oil for a bit then I did just try to flush it with warm water since CVS opened 30 minutes before the doctor's office. I might have gone from 25% hearing to 35% in that ear(could be my imagination though), but not open. Done trying to fix it on my own, so I'll go in and see them asap.

I sometimes have crumbly ear wax in one eat and stick in the other. Maybe I'm half asian?

Edit: internet is wonderful btw. Got doctor advice here, and I posted over on Fark and had an audiologist respond too. You guys are great.

I am caucasian and my wife is asian...our kids have earwax that is both a little sticky and a little crumbly. Therefore I suspect that the trait of earwax stickiness/crumblyness is co-dominant.

I'm on hold with the doctor's automated phone machine. They opened 10 minutes ago but I suspect no one is answering the phone yet.

You can call him whatever you want, but I suspect he is a gastroenterologist.
