I am. Gave TJ the origin8s and picked up the new wtb dirtdrops, but want a shallower drop and shorter reach.
Plan is to get some brifters and put the wtbs on the cannondale.

removable cores usually have 2 flat sides to the threaded part where you can screw the valve cap on. simply take a pair of needle nose pliers to both the flat sides and turn counter-clockwise. The rest of the stem that goes into the tube is a bit darker in color than the bit thats removable, at the end.
now some tubulars do not have removable cores, the vittoria rallye is the only one i have seen tho. this threaded section is not flattened on either side and its the same brassy color as the rest of the stem.

Kidding but I do have a friend that is a poor student and is moving at the end of this month, she asked me if I had anything to donate, where are you located?

So my prospects of moving are becoming very real and very imminent. All I can afford at the moment are tiny bachelors, but coming from a large house, I'm expecting there will be some adjustment involved...
For those of you guys in a similar situation to what I will be, do you find you have enough room in your apartment for a full-sized bike? I was offered a 'leaving home' gift, and I'm thinking maybe a Bike Friday will be a better investment at this time than the B&W speakers I had my eye on. It would certainly be nice to be able to take my bike inside with me wherever I go, I'm still paranoid every time I leave my bike outside, but I'm getting better (slowly).
The only Bike Friday retailer I know of in Toronto is Urbane; Operator, do you have anything to say about this topic?
Thanks guys!

Bike Friday - quality folding bikes at a fairly affordable price. Their customer service and after sales support (dealer or customer level) are top-notch. Both cannot be said about the dahons (pm me if you want more info - I built/repaired/warrantied those extensively). Carey one of the co-owners owns a (or more) bike fridays, he'd be a good person to talk to about those bikes if you need help figuring out which model you want. The folding and unfolding with the hyperfold models is extremely fast and does not require resetting of bars/seatposts (dahons). Go test ride some of them and check it out.
Another brand to consider is Bromptom - we used to carry those as well but I think we sold off our last ones about a year ago. I considered folding bikes just before I moved out of t-dot, for commuting via go-train. You can take those onboard even during rush hour. Haven't had a need for a folding bike here yet - all the buses here have bike racks and I live in a 1 bedroom place so I have plenty of room.

Curbside has Bromptons and they do come up for sale on ebay relatively often. Bromptons are stellar as commuters but don't translate to other stuff like touring. Bike Fridays, like the New World Tourist, can do either well. Some of the BF models are best suited only for short distance touring. BF has used bikes on their website but don't ship them to Canada. If you have someone who can drop ship it for you, it may save you a bit.

I was checking out a couple options, and I really dig the One-Way Tikit (17.7lbs!) and the Seasons Tikit. I looked at Brompton, but wasn't impressed with the folding, having to reset my seatpost height every time would get old quick. I don't plan on doing any major touring, but I still have plans to ride to St. Catharines in the late sumer, and everything I've read so far makes me think that the Tikits will handle that no problem, if I'm up to the physical exertion.
One thing I noticed was the weight limit on the Bike Fridays. I'm a pretty big guy, and I'm feeling pretty chunky after a winter of inactivity, so I would probably need to go for the heavy rider upgrade, which (I believe) necessitates ordering straight from Bike Friday.
If I dig the Tikit, and the 16" wheels, I think I'll probably end up selling my Paddy Wagon to help fund this purchase. Do you guys think $900 is too much for a package of a 54cm 2009 Paddy Wagon, brand new conti gatorskins, SKS Chromoplastic fenders, a CycleOps trainer + the old tires so you don't bust up the gatorskins, a Lezyne classic floor drive and a Kryptonite Mini + Kryptoflex cord, with 2 extra years of coverage? I have my doubts about anyone going for all of that at once, but is the price pretty accurate for craigslist?

$900 is not bad if the rest of the bike is in good condition. You can get a brand new '010 paddy wagon for $750'ish. Some people might not want the accessories (besides the fenders & tyres) that you're offering though. CL is usually just trolled by lowballers and time wasters.

The bike is in excellent condition, other than a few cosmetic scratches from locking up downtown, I've probably put less than 600k on it since I got it, sadly. The only problem I can think of is that the stock plastic pedals it came with have bearing issues, but they have lasted me a whole year so far. I'll throw up an ad on craigslist and see if I get any interest at all - thanks for the help Operator and cavit8!
