I saw Albert this afternoon as I was picking up my Halloween stuff. He's off to get his bandages changed.
I'll be rocking the kit at the sprints as I don't know if I'll be out Friday night for the "themed race" *snikker* My wife and I are going out on a date on Halloween, first time in 14 years there's no kids about. We met on halloween so we're tickled about how it's worked out. 17 years now. |
Times when I hate being the "techie" guy: "I deleted Open Office because it was too big and I couldn't open the internet." ... 'tF?!

Then she needs to open an Excel file and put in hours that she works or something. "ok, so what's the problem?" So she begins to show me, by opening WordPerfect, and then clicking File Open and trying to open the excel file that way. Needless to say, it didn't work well. |
Beer after sprints tonight? Beaconsfield? Other?
|
Today I learned that is IS possible to put the pedals on a bike backwards. Now I'm not so surprised that her pedal came off when she crashed it...

traffic jammer: so, it looks like one-day permits will be available for Masters and and Under-19 categories at the Centennial Park races. The ****e part is that it looks like those of us Senior racers with citizen permits will NOT be able to race. What a crock!
Here's the post from cyclocrossontario.com: - One days are available for U19 and Masters categories. - UCI rules stipulate that only UCI licensed riders are allowed to race in UCI sanctioned races, that is the Elite men and women races. Yes, this does mean that Ontario riders with a citizen's permit are NOT allowed to race the Elite UCI categories. While I would like to see CP be allowed to race... but I don't make UCI rules, only abide by them, sorry. - One days are ALLOWED FOR ALL OTHER CATEGORIES as they are covered by an Ontario sanction. |
Man, lots of 'tf posts on this page... Ahhhhh computer idiocy :) (I rarely ever openly admit to being a techie because of the implied "ohh, so you can help me" BS that comes with it).
lol @ Wes' reply, touche :) TJ: Nice, man - first night in 14 years must be rough times - part of the reason I'm no longer with the missus is a strained relationship with no "us" time/energy... Good for you guys *group hug* (That and she was reluctant to get on a bike *cough* ;))

'cause it's not like I like the taste. |
SO Wes: Being I would ride in a Masters Remedial Class as a Citizen Racer...why the heck can't you as a Senior? I'm so confused.. is it because you might be competitive and therefore should be under the UCI umbrella (UCI's take on it?)

Here's the post from cyclocrossontario.com: If that's true I'm pissed. I was looking forward to that race. |

So I could seriously just show up and race? that's too cool ... AS long as it isn't 50 bucks... Keith you up for the sprinting tonight? |
The Cent. races are UCI sanction. This means that the categories that we have been racing in (ability based) are not in play at these races. You can't race a Senior 1,2 or 3 race but there will be a beginner race that is open to Citizen Permit holders. The proposition that sucks for me is that rather than be in Master3...I will be in Master age group. This means I get Dave Dermont, Paul Greene, Paul Croutch, Steve Heck and Teddy in my group....on top of all the other guys who already feed me my a$s...DFL for me :)
|
So hey, Keith... How do you feel about giving my bike the once over at sprints tonight?
I won't be riding it... because it's unrideable and I've got a torn AC joint in my shoulder thanks to the attentive driver that ****ing SMOKED me this morning... but I figured it would be good to have an expert look at it to see what I can save and what needs to head for the scrapyard. ;) |
I'm hooking a buddy up with his first road bike, and I'm trying to foresee the problems that he might have. He lives out in the country, so I want to get him a pump to go on the bike. I use the Topeak Road Morph which is amazing, but it's pretty expensive ($50) where MEC has some that are like $15. Anyone have any experience with the cheaper ones?
|
matt: ouch.
keith: cool, thanks for the heads-up. at least I'll be there to point and laugh..? andrew: keith has dibs on dfl, so don't let him down. :) |

We've been out... not ALOT but out yes indeed.... to be able to celebrate the night we met will be cool. We spoke of throwing a Halloween party for next year. That would be fun, we've thrown some nice bashes in the past. "Us" time is a very necessary commodity in a relationship. She doesn't ride .... it's probably better that way.
Not looking forward to facing the wind across the city, but I'll likely be swinging by the sprints on the way back home. Weather looks nice out of the window, bonus. Might be able to get my German friend and courier bud with the left-side drive fixie down for kicks and giggles. |
hey I saw a left sider this afternoon ...cranking a sizable gearing? Luckily I BELIEVE I would be running in the beginners race right? If that's the case I will not finish DFL... I will take someone out on the last lap if I must.. jk'n I wouldn't dare. Keith you at the shop til Gating..or East/Westing? I'm going home for kiddy/wifely hugs and supper first.

Hey Matt - stinks about the accident. i've got some stuff in the parts bin; if you're in need let me know.
|
Virgin no more !
Got pulled over by the cops on the way home from the race(s)... Blew a red and got *****@d-out for it. He pointed out I was wearing black and said " I bet if you got your head run-over you'd complain about it" ( bitting tongue...) "sorry, I don't know what to say..." "obey the signals and GET LOST!!!" (drives away fast, stops at red - turns on cherrys...drives through... turns off lights)... Wow... |
Christian: Wow that's bull****! What a tool (not you the cop :D)!
Sorry to hear about your accident Matt. Get well bro. Band practice went late tonight so no sprints for me tonight. Keith Is my wheel ready to pick up? |
