Bikes: Menonite black urbanite, probably enough spare parts to make anther one.
when i used to ride to the start of randonneur rides that would start up there i would typically take keele street or jane street all the way north. bathurst can be a bit congested and the road surface is terrible.

Open pros = lose. Well it's either that or da28. Can't think of any carbon deep profile rims I can lace it to without breaking the bank. So AL it is. Deep v's are too heavy.

Get a twine that's not too fuzzy. Tape where you don't want shellac to go. I'd recommend thinning the shellac 1:1 with alcohol for the first coat, then up to 2 or 3:1 (shellac:alcohol) for the final coat. I've used it unthinned before and it took forever to dry and didn't turn out that well.

what's wrong with rivendell "style"? i find most of their advice quite practical and useful but i draw the line and wearing tevas while riding and putting a kickstand on a $3000 bike.

In other news I am the newest Cervelo employee! I start thursday. Goodbye to unemployment and sleeping in on weekdays and hello to being able to pay off my credit card!
Wow, very cool. Good luck with it, save up for an R3, what a sweet ride.

Nice, dude! Congrats! That's just down the street from my house... I always used to ride by there and see the Easton boxes in the window and wonder what was in there...
Is it just me or do the seat stays look really weird on that R3?

I've been told that the seat stays are not even needed on the bike, that the BB and chainstays are so stiff that the bike can perform perfectly well without them The only reason they are there is because the governing body of cycling (UCI or something like that) dictates that a bicycle must have rear seat stays in order to compete.
That could be complete hogwash but they do look really really thin, so thin as to mitigate them useless.

I'm going to be doing assembly of bikes in the warehouse. Woo! I'd love to have a sweet Carbon Fibre road bike, but I feel like I have to train like a mofo first. If I have a bike like that I want to be able to lay some serious smackdown, not just loaf over to the coffee shop!

Nice Dan, congrats!
I hear you on the training... In my experience seeing others on cervelos they either pass you like you're standing still, or you do the same to them (but they don't care 'cause their bottle cages cost more than your bike) I've yet to meet or see an "average" rider like myself riding one.
