you can either meet at 8:45 at the south side of grange park (which is just north of urbane) which is usually just a small group coming in from the east or you can meet at the ontario place parking lot thing at 9

Fuzzz 05-15-08 09:32 PM

Fun night of hanging out and goofing around at the Sprints. Was good to see everyone...

"Hi, Im a security guard at ontario place, i couldn't make it as a cop so i spend my nights stealing bike lights off guys who didn't know they were doing anything wrong. then i'm going to be a dick about it"

on another note, that kicked ass. my bike computer says i clocked 48.99km/h during one run, which im very happy with, only lost one race (to corey i believe. that makes it him 1 and me 1)

and it was awesome putting more faces to names. and when Will (i hope thats the right person hahaha) asked me if i had a lock with me(after the nobjockey security guard first took my light) i couldn't figure out what was going on, i was wondering if he had like expected me to hit them with it, or like lock my bike up and hop the fence and go after them... hahahaha i was throughly confused.

ps: whats with the DSR group on crackbook being restricted (or thats what is says when i tried to join it)

IIRC I think for dsr group you have to be a member of the toronto group first.

nerdsgirth 05-16-08 06:20 AM

You got your light stolen?!?!? by a security cop? safety first. Sorry I missed DSR this week. I wanted to.

Agreed pyze, you have to be part of the facebook Toronto group ... I see you changed you profile to Milan already ;)

I_bRAD 05-16-08 06:51 AM

So sprints are on Thursdays now, or was it a rain date?

TRaffic Jammer 05-16-08 07:20 AM

He stole your light?

Stuart left his lights to mark the finish line, security drove by, stopped and picked them up just after Fuzzz and I rode by. Should have seen Stuart hauling ass trying to catch the van.

Dunno if everyone's seen this yet, but it's quite a scene from Giro stage 5.. David Millar broke his chain setting up for the final sprint + teaches his naughty bike a lesson:

OUCH. That's gotta suck after riding 230km.

kylehutton 05-16-08 01:35 PM

does anyone have any spacers kicking around to keep the drop outs from getting crushed when packing a frame?

LordFoo 05-16-08 01:35 PM

I tried joining the DSR facebook group but wasn't able to (even with Toronto, ON network membership).. any thoughts?

Also -- just heard about this for the first time today -- anyone here racing in the St. Lawrence Market Crit on May 30?

EDIT: Or a better website: http://www.torontocriterium.com/

somnambulant 05-16-08 01:54 PM

Score. Gettin' sent home early. Short Friday on a long weekend FTW.

If anyone's around for a coffee, give me a ring. If I hadn't destroyed myself in the Don (and sprints) last night I'd be in there again. D'oh!

TRaffic Jammer 05-16-08 01:57 PM

see the roadie guy in the video ...dude tosses his ride over the barrier I'm on it like a kid on a smartie.
Man that sucks so bad!!! I'd be pissed too.

I'm helping with throwing live obstacles onto the course....small dogs, kids, the elderly, keeps the crits fresh and gory. jk'n of course I'd never throw an old person. But yes working the race. Should be some awesome photo ops ..get early and pick your spot.

EVIL DEAD the Musical ...here I come!!!

orguasch 05-16-08 02:36 PM

go to your favorite, LBS, they should have this thing, Once I needed them, I just went to my fave LBS. and viola I got two one for the fork and one for the rear.....

Crap, wouldn't you know it - this is exactly my size. Right after I finish building 3 new bikes with a 4th one on the way soon. I've always liked this model.

Any thoughts on day trips? (non bike related unfortunately) Anyone had a unique local roadtrip experience lately? The lady and I are itching to get out of the city. Thanks!

On the way back from Ottawa we stopped in Almonte (home of James Naismith!) beautiful little town.
