Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

The adhesive strip on the Cinelli caleido tape did not leave crap on the bars, when I pulled it off. I was pretty happy about that.

We didn't even talk about inward vs outward wrap yet.

Sure they are. They're not from Boston, for one.

Wow, that is a real stretch. Those two desserts have almost nothing in common, considering one is pie and the other is actually a cake.

Wasn't it W. C. Fields who had engraved on his tombstone, "All things considered, I'd rather have Cheese Whiz on my steak sandwhich."

Did it ever occur to you the failure is on the poster not the reader. Perhaps you tongue is not embedded deeply enough in your cheek. Let's agree to both try harder.

Naw. You're so busy strutting your stuff, that you tend to blind yourself to the fact that there may be another person out there that could also be a virtual cornucopia of useless information.

Not intending to start something here, but your constant tendency to point out the literal incorrectness of others posts is tiring. I got LAJ's humor and for that matter I understood what Bah Humbug was referencing in post #250 as well. Maybe neither was 'technically' true, but really, who cares? Don't sweat the little stuff.

Think I'm gonna pass on the big Salsa party in the woods. Too much work to do around the house and I'm just not feeling that gung ho about 40 mile road ride + couple hours cavorting in the woods on new bikes + 40 mile road ride back home.

Time for coffee and cookies, a little cleaning, then maybe a nice, flat 25-mile ride.

As much as the Walker trade built that dynasty, I didn't have a particular dislike for any of the notable players.

I guess that is the problem: I care. In my life all the big stuff is humming along just fine. Sweating the little stuff is what I live for. C'est la vie. But that is my issue.

Truly sorry to be tedious. I will try harder to be more tolerable. I enjoy interacting with you folks.

Just over a year ago, I think, I gave up continuous spiral.

Now I switch directions at the levers. Kinda tricky to figure out at first but is the ultimate way to wrap. The wrap to end all wraps. The mother of all wraps.
...I am also in the camp of bottom up direction switchers for about the past ten years. Works for me, but I use that double stick stuff too.

Not at all. Finding other folks like that is what I live for.

Let's face it. Everybody on this thread, maybe on the whole forum is FOS. You got your fifty bike guys, your $1,000 cup of coffee guys, your gazillion byte computer storage guys, your vinyl recording guys, and on and on. Well now you got me too. Just look at it as rounding out the group.

Aikman and Smith seemed decent enough sorts, but Irvin was real d-bag. Who stabs a teammate over a haircut? Michael Irvin, that's who.

Personally I don't know how someone could possibly get a decent cup of coffee for less than $1,500 so clearly he is rounding down.
