Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Time for coffee and cookies, a little cleaning, then maybe a nice, flat 25-mile ride.
Speaking of salsa, lunch today is peanut butter and apple butter soft tacos. No salsa. There are brownies for dessert.

Let's face it. Everybody on this thread, maybe on the whole forum is FOS. You got your fifty bike guys, your $1,000 cup of coffee guys, your gazillion byte computer storage guys, your vinyl recording guys, and on and on. Well now you got me too. Just look at it as rounding out the group.
I represent that remark.

We should also throw in "guys that refer to their beers as craft" for good measure.

Mmm craft beer.

I wonder if Roger's $1,000 figure included tip...

Going back to the Velveeta discussion. I worked at the Kraft plant in New Ulm MN that makes it and I couldn't eat cheese or cheese food products for a year after working there. Bleh.

Back to the fake cheese: I ordered a hamburger horseshoe for lunch today in honor of all the Velveeta and Philly threads.

The hedonistic, gelatinous mess was invented about 65 miles from me.

I've had that. However, I do not recall when or where. I suspect that it was a couple of years ago during that year I spent in Peoria one month.

One does not preclude the other. Have both.

Or, I should say, I'll have the horseshoe and wash it down with civet poop coffee.

Ok so any musically oriented people here? My daughter Hannah tells me she hears music "in color." I never heard of such a thing but apparently it exists. It's apparently called chromesthesia. Not sure if it's a blessing or a curse. Maybe both? She also has perfect pitch. And is a perfect whiner to boot.

Apparently Lizst and Rimsky-Korsakov had this form of synesthesia. A more recent composer, whom I've met, has it. Michael Torke. He often includes colors in the titles of his works.

i wouldnt go so far as to say that i hear music in color, but i have very specific association with certain songs and colors, as well as moods and weather conditions. my ipod is full of playlists from that
