Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Sweet - I'll put it on the list (though the winter free time is already getting scarce with Fallout and Deus Ex releases scheduled).

My softball team won the championship game in grand fashion today. Down 9-5 in the last inning, and with two outs, we hustled and chipped away at the lead and finally won on a 2-RBI blooper to the opposite field. We needed 5 runs, we got 5 runs. Much props to the guys for keeping the faith and not giving up.

Did I mention 4 of the 5 runs were scored with 2 outs?

You should have gone to a neighboring community and picked off some ringers like the really good teams do. Then you would have won early under the mercy rule.

It was a really great game to win. The opposing team was in shock, and in fact I think our guys were too. It's one of those fairy tale endings that rarely happen for real. And with 2 outs already . . . . . that's special.

As well, this team started the season with 4 straight losses. To come back and take it all feels pretty special.

And now, the end is near;
And so I face the final curtain.
My friend, I'll say it clear,
I'll state my case, of which I'm certain.
