Last TT of the year. Second place.
This is the last race of the year for me. Currently in second place in the SoCal TT series. I know! Me. It's been a good run so far, seven TTs, every one of them a PR. Three wins, three second places and a TT bike that I actually love to ride. :) |
Congrats Heathpack! Woohoo!!

As long as you don't mind waiting a bit, PBK usually has the best price on tires I can find.

Here's an interesting thought. We get lots of different professions on BF, but I can't remember anyone ever identifying themselves as a teacher or professor. Anyone remember differently?

So I'm gonna gripe now re: the recent project.
Between you guys, taking the specialized by the shop I work at, and posting it in the dropbar mtb thread in C&V, it seems like EVERYONE has an opinion about what I NEED to do with MY bike. Everyone means well enough, and I think people just get into it because it's a fun project, but jeez... Ok, whining over. So this weekend, we had our bike shop Christmas party and it was a BLAST. They rented out a swanky bar and we had a buffet style dinner with appetizers and dessert. And there were waiters and waitresses walking around making sure you had some alcohol in your hand. I rarely drink, but I had enough that night that I knew I needed to have some water and a cool down period before driving home. We have a white elephant gift exchange which is kind of a Russian roulette in terms of good/bad, but I walked away with a bottle of whiskey this year. AND last year, they bought us some nice Bontrager jackets with the shop logo embroidered. This year, they got us Patagonia vests with the shop logo embroidered. Plus a cool t-shirt. All I did was build bikes this year! I LOVE my shop. It's like a giant family. |

Last TT of the year. Second place. Lost to my nemesis yet again. BUT we had tough conditions today, windy and an unfavorable wind direction. Nemesis was slower than her personal best by 1 min. I PRed my race by 53 seconds! I thought I was going to be at a big disadvantage with the wind making things trickier because there were three way more experienced women racing today. Somehow I pulled it off, no one is more surprised by this than me.
.... Yesterday I told Mr H that I couldn't stand to see the Di2 wires out in the airflow, could we please get them run internally?! Sure no problem, he said. And a mere 6 hours later, it was done. TT bikes are a little like working on a ship in a bottle. This is the last race of the year for me. Currently in second place in the SoCal TT series. I know! Me. Well done. I love my TT bike, it has Di2. I'm selling it, I suck @ this sport and it's not fun riding that hard and finishing DFL (dead friggin last) +4 or whatever. No more racing for me anyway, chasing the racing boys around on the weekends is plenty of exercise for me, I'll but the money I get from the TT bike and some other stuff to a 2016 Scott Foil Premium next summer when Scott is blowing them out for half price (Di2 11 speed, full DA, zipps).

And painful in a whole lot of other ways, too. |
