Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

This is starting to sound like work...

Modern dress shirts don't have pockets. I mean you can still buy dress shirts with pockets, but the modern style is no pocket.

Is being off the bike for six weeks causing me to do crazy stuff? Or was I bound to do that regardless?

Discuss.

Being out of Addiction for months caused you to do crazy stuff that resulted in an injury. I imagine being away from the bike will be just as bad or worse.

Good point, but June physical did not show it. I will keep that in mind. I should mention that I am not short of breath, but rather just sluggish.

Except for Polo brand dress shirts, I don't see any without pockets. All the ones from the largest men's wear retailer, Men's Wearhouse/Jos. Bank have pockets as far as I know.

EDIT: I see Banana Republic and other youth focused retailers aren't showing pockets. My bad.

This is by far the longest stretch I've gone since 2004, so not much data to work with.

Then where do you put all your pens?

I actually interface with an old skool PE here at work who still uses a pocket protector.

I haven't bought a pocketed dress shirt in years.

I hate dressing up for work but it's expected. Usual outfit is dress shirt (100% cotton but wrinkle free), dockers, tie (I prefer Jerry Garcia designs) and black reeboks. Plus I wear that stupid long white coat. I would love to pitch that too but it's a cultural thing.

BTW I do all my own work clothes laundry, it's all wash and wear. No ironing or dry cleaning for this lazy cheapskate.

In the early spring I was riding slow and laboring. Turns out my iron and proteins were very low. Of course I have other health issues, too.

Note: I am not a medical doctor.

Engineering school was a few years ago for me. I don't think my pockets (if I even had them on a shirt at any point in time) needed to be protected from my macbook.

A fellow I worked with many years ago stuck a red flair pen in the pocket of his white shirt, without the cap on. It went unnoticed for about ten minutes. He walked to where I was sitting and I burst out laughing. He looked like he had been shot.

Because you mention it, I suddenly realized that my two favorite doctors never wore the white coat. One was a D.O. family doctor that wore what you did minus the coat (he's retired now). The other is the very good doctor who fixed my knee. He wears scrubs because he's in surgery half the time.
