I've always found this to be a fun challenge. Also, I'm an inveterate weight-weenie/minimalist and hated carrying around multiple lenses when I'd go out on photo shoots.

I don't know Chad Young, but the teammate of his that was involved in the crash, Edward Anderson, is from here and I've ridden with him a few times. He just signed with Hagens Berman and I think this was his first stage race as a pro, it's gotta be horrible to go down and have one of your teammates not survive.

Thoughts with Edward and the family of Chad, bike racing has been pretty tragic lately.

Speaking of lenses, my all-time favorite is the Canon EF 135mm f/2L USM. It is a fantastic lens for portraiture but also very flexible. I took this in southern California with it a few years ago in Long Beach, CA:
