I don't have one either. You see a lot less drafting on gravel rides. Those rocks can sting when they hit you.

That's the beauty of it. LAJ is getting slower and fatter because he's not Strava'ing his trainer rides, and you're getting skinnier because you're not Strava'ing your donut walks.

Yes, without hesitation.

Crap.

It's all making sense now.

Okay, good to know. If I do run across my missing fender, I'll throw it in the car, but I'm not going to sweat it if I don't.

This is the first time that something of this nature has been said in response to a Dan333SP post.

Nice pics, Les.

Except for that time that he admitted to eating paint chips as a kid.

Amazing. Steam locos are best seen in cold environments for obvious reasons. It's cool that they're running that thing without modern diesel "helpers" as they seem to with a lot of historic locomotives.

I was pretty stoked to see it running without help on this run, myself. End of train was still a little disappointing...

It would be nice if they could throw something like this on

It was snowing pretty good over there in Baxter Basin. There was almost no westbound traffic at all on I-80. I reckon it must be pretty bad over Elk Mountain way.

Again, it's a rule of thumb and a loose one at that, but generally, yeah, it's advised to stay faster than 1/FL (and yes, factor in crop). So stay faster than 1/50th with a 50mm on FF or about 1/80 on a crop body. With the higher resolution bodies these days, some people like to bump that to 1/2xFL, so 1/100th with a 50mm on FF.

edited to add - this is without the benefit of IBIS, which generally is good for a couple/few more stops, but then you really start introducing motion blur for anything but the most stationary subjects.

Thanks. I understand that! :)

Three commas in a nine word sentence.

Not bad.

For those who think the answer to all my photo questions is to buy something, I have some good news for you. I was in Best Buy for something else and saw a $20 monopod. Done! Let's see if that is any help for a low light shoot like I am undertaking.

I'm sorry. I'll be more careful in the future.

They certainly don't hurt. If I'm going for a walk with the tripod, I'll often use it as a mono.

Hey Dan - that red RXRS is still available.

Last year was the first year I was fine with missing Bears games. I even scheduled things during Bears games. I stopped caring after game three. That hasn't happened before, but once the injuries started, it was apparent the team was terrible and I was wasting my time.

As you said, desperate times call for moving up to draft a QB that has 13 college starts.

So under that mean three star exterior, you're really a big soft mushy dog lover. I knew it!

Nice Benson food, Mrs. rjones.

Oh boy. 60cm?

I should really wait for my first new paycheck at least before going down that rabbit hole

One day.
