Strava question. Some guy in my area has requested to follow me about 6 times in the last week. From what I can tell, we've never ridden together and I don't know him. Maybe he found me from all my KOMs?
/s Anyway, I don't like strangers following me so I deny the request but he keeps re-requesting. Can I block someone on Strava? |
I got the rma back from Garmin. No mention from them of needing to send a receipt. Gonna hit the ups store later and send off the vivoinactive. I should get a replacement back 10-14 days after they receive it. So, won't have it at my duathlon on Saturday.
I was planning to use its alerts to keep me at the pace I'm aiming for. |
Stop pulling my cord.

Irish did well in her race yesterday 7:33/mile average over the 10 miles 612th out of roughly 20,000 women 22nd in her age group (45-49) Kudos to her. |

He apparently is mostly a runner anyway. Who wants that crap showing up in their activity feed? |

First ride with my crabon tubulars this morning. I definitely gained 0.002mph on a loop I never do at a pace I never ride in. More aeroer, lighter, and less rolling resistance. Win, win, WIN.

Vivoactive is still dead this morning. I started the warranty process, but I don't have the receipt so I'm hoping I can get a copy from target.

I've had mine since july 12th. First time taking it in a pool yesterday (cuz swimming is dumb) and it was not waterproof at all. Died instantly and was leaking water for hours after.

KILL STORY:
I had a nice relaxed ride on our bike trail yesterday. There's a relatively short climb early in the trail. This guy up ahead of me was clearly chasing down another dude on a touring bike with bags. He passed him and then slowed and starting wobbling. I passed both of them because of my watts. A quarter mile later and the guy who chased the touring bike was sitting behind me silently. Not a fan of that, so I gave him the look and droped him. Didn't see him again until I was on my way home (it's an out and back trail that terminates in the city, presumably he turned around sooner than me). He kinda popped out from a side street almost like he'd been waiting there, I know he wasn't but it was still odd. I continued my ride and then got caught at a light. I was waiting behind a couple cars when he flies past in the parking lane and runs the red light (it's for a pedestrian crossing). That annoys me because it was dangerous, so once the light turns green I gradually catch him again, move in front of him, let him sit on my wheel, and then drope him without a word or a glance. Road bikers are asses. Myself included. |
Just got done with a brain MRI. I asked the tech if they saw lightning bolts in there and she said, no, cartoons.

I don't go near water so I shouldn't have that problem. :D

So next time you'll just drop the kids off at the pool?
I was killing it at Marco polo too, but it'll never make it to strava. |

I recently allowed a stranger to follow me. At first, I thought that one of my friends had joined and fat-fingered his name (one letter was off). Looking at the profile, though, I realized it was a flyby and someone relatively new to riding and the area (probably impressed with my guads of steel... that or he just wants more ideas of where to ride). This morning, perusing the 41, I saw a user name that's the same as last name of my new follower. Yup - same guy, but couldn't have known that I was on the board before the follow request.
BITD I was posting in the 33 around the time I started racing, asking for advice and such. Someone noticed I was in Richmond and PM'd me about a local race. We messaged a bit about it., I think his PM signature was his actual name. Fast forward a couple weeks and I'm at my old job reviewing a report. I notice this guy's relatively distinctive name in the metadata for the report. I email his work address and ask if he's the same dude from BF who was wondering about a bike race. It was, he created the report I was reading. We worked in different offices but same company. Turns out he was also a graduate of the MA program I was in at the time, and lived a couple miles away. He ended up on my team for a couple years and got 2nd in the first and only race I've ever won. On one of our first rides together I told him about Ok Cupid (met my wife there), so he signed up and is now married to someone he met on there. I take full credit :D |
