Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Super busy day. Full appointment schedule, a couple of work ups. We were a paragon of efficiency and it looked like I was going to get out in time to make the early train.

Then I was reminded we have a meeting at 5:30. Oh that's so annoying. Its 3:59pm here in LA. My day is wrapped up and I get to sit around and wait 1.5 more hours for this meeting, then not be able to make any kind of reasonable train, then delve into the heart of darkness that is LA rush hour, and at that time of day have my drive take me an hour.

Done at 4pm and I won't get home until 7:30.

On the bright side, I had an interesting day and I rode my bike already and business is good. And I'm picking up a seizuring Beagle puppy from the emergency service tomorrow. That thing is cute as stink.

And most of all, I can't stand jazz, not that there is much of that anymore at Jazz Fest.

But hey, besides all that, I hear it is really a fun time.
So, not much of a fan of Mardi Gras, either?

Also, we have a new resident at work. Every time Dr. Jones (real name) walks in, all I hear is:

Do it.

Friend and former team mate passed suddenly over the weekend. Brain aneurysm I guess. Not a close friend, but someone I knew and enjoyed being around and someone that was way to young for this.

Carpe diem.

Only one oboe, too. And currently just four percussionists, who attend irregularly. It's lacking balance.
