Ugh, just sprained my ankle going down the stairs.

It was reborn as the Bakery at Chester Springs in Ludwig's Corner at the intersection of PA 100 and PA 401.

Dang, that sucks. If it makes you feel better, I broke a toe shaving once.

Good question. I am a little vague on exactly what I'm going to test. I just want to be faster without doing all that training. ;) Coach has done aero-testing multiple times before though and we will develop a syllabus for the test, so that we maximize our time.

I will likely test a narrower arm position, "monoarm" as coach calls it. This will mean bringing my elbow pads in more towards the midline. Its faster for a lot of people but affects bike handling so sometimes causes tension, which is slower. If we do this, I'll make the change in advance of the testing such that I'm reasonably comfortable with the handling of the bike in that position.

Fitter emailed me that he found this guy with a weird position who has a crazy low CdA, one of the lowest they've ever measured and he's a big guy. I'm not sure what the details are on that, or if he'll want to try any of it for me.

I am thinking I will test a few tire variations. Maybe borrow coach's disc to see if its faster than my FLO. Long shot but if I could talk the FLO guys into lending me a set of the FLO 2 wheels, I'd love to test them vs the FLO 1 wheels I have.

Fitter has helmets to test, although I'm pretty sure I've already got the fastest helmet.

Some people test faster with track gloves, so I might try that.

And a few other piddling things. But IU haven't really discussed ideas yet with fitter or coach and they both know way more about it than I do. So it will be interesting to see what the actually syllabus looks like when the day comes vs what I'm imagining we'll test now.

Does seem like you really want to get in there with a solid plan, otherwise you might end up spending all your time focusing on something that might not be optimal. Seems like the people you work with really know what they're doing though, so you should be fine.

When are we seeing you in Worlds? :)

In keeping with today's apparent theme: Why would you go and do something like that?

Next time ride down, it is easier on the joints.

I'm doing the Ride of Silence tonight on my new MTB wheels. Mainly because people complained about my road bike's DT240 18t ratchet last time. I made sure they put a 36t ratchet on my DT350 hubbed jiyna'ploders. They're practically silent.

Ah, yes I know that one. We don't ride there because both 100 and 401 there have fairly heavily traffic, but I often ride within a mile or two of there.

There is also a NEW bakery called "Butterscotch Bakery" in Birchrunville at the bottom of my favorite local hill, Flowing Springs Road. You may wish to ride out and try the hill as well as the bakery.

In hind sight I should have taken the elevator.

Wow, it's 90F outside right now.

I did that hill once. Once.

Is that fancy schmancy restaurant still there, or maybe the bakery replaced it.

Maybe they were Shimano road shoes that stretched.

The fancy schmancy place is still there. No credit cards accepted, and apparently you must make reservations well in advance.

There used to be a small antiques store right across from the restaurant. It closed a few years ago, and that's where the new bakery is.

You may wish to come out and do that hill again sometime. I remember the first time I did it, I nearly died as I thought the stop sign was the end and it's only 2/3 done at that point. But after that, I decided to make that hill my b*tch and now I really enjoy going up it. I don't think I will ever have the Strava KOM on it, but I know it so well that I look forward to going up it.

I know that store. Haven't ridden that road in several years.

I may also want to stick a hot pin in my eyeball, but I doubt it. :D

Wait. Let me get this straight. If I have a hammer that occasionally looks like a pair of slip joint pliers, or a 13/16 combination wrench, it really isn't a hammer? I'm having trouble with this.

See above.

This place is in West Chester. It's called "La Baguette Magique" and it is indeed run by a woman from Lyon. Some of the people in the know state it's the real deal, as good as you will find in France. The prices are a little higher than I would like, but their bread and pastries etc. are ****ing good.

We already knew that.

45 min. until date time.

Yes. She's a meat and potatoes girl. She's going to see some Irish author speak at the Free Library this evening so we have to stay in the Logan Circle area. Maybe Kite & Key.

Went to El Vez for lunch last Friday during our department retreat and stuffed myself silly. The person who arranged the menu ordered way too much. I felt it was my duty to not let so much food go to waste.
