You should try putting a lot of butter on your cheesecake. I bet that will help things.

Yesterday was Mr H's birthday. I managed to get out of work a little early so I text him, "Hey can I take you out to dinner?" He replies that he wants to go to Outback Steakhouse. WTF, that place is terrible. We haven't been there in maybe 10 years. "Sure," I text back. Yay, he tells me next he wants a Bloomin Onion. !!!! I google it: 1950 cal for a Bloomin Onion. We get there and he orders the Bloomin Onion and a big mug of beer. Then he spies this Four Course Meal Deal. So he orders that: baked potato soup, wedge salad with blue cheese, steak, mashed potatoes and a slice of cheesecake with chocolate sauce. Also as the meal proceeds, he gets another beer. It was epic. He couldn't actually eat the cheesecake, had to take it home. I helped him with the onion. But he ate the rest of it, I'd guess it was 3000 cal easy. How he is not fat is beyond me. :) |

The disc herniates into the spinal canal or into the vertebral foramen or into the vertebral endplate. These terms are not important, but the important part is that the disc herniates into a bony compartment of your body so it cannot be felt by palpating your back. If you're feeling something, my guess would be a muscle spasm caused by the disc herniation. datlas would probably know. The extent of disc herniation can be measured on the MRI. Its an imaging thing not a physical exam thing. /end rant |
:bday: to Mr H!

Pretty much true. I try to stay away from medical opinions, but FYI in humans there is an over reliance on imaging for back problems. MRI scans have their role but history, symptoms, and physical exam (plus clinical judgement) matter more IMO. I believe they have done studies on "normal" people with no obvious back problems and sometimes the MRI shows terrible herniated discs and the patient feels fine. Other times I have seen patients with severe back pain and the MRI is underwhelming.

A truly beautiful meal ;)
I had a big salad with sliced steak, dressing on the side. And a coconut lime margarita that was really quite good. (Since in this thread we talk about what we ate or are going to eat or wish we could eat.) |

PT may help. Consider a burst of prednisone 50mg/day for 5-7 days along with PT, but that's up to your doctor.

While I was away, the latest copy of "Road Bike Action" came in the mail.
The cover has a Franco Latigo bike adorned with MEILENSTEIN wheels. |

You can post your for or against here. I'm leaning towards against but am holding judgement for awhile. |

I had to visit an urgent care today, and I found it highly ironic that the remaining spaces in the shopping center consisted of a Dunkin Donuts, a Nothing Bundt Cakes, and a Jimmy John's. Thankfully, I was not tempted in the least.
Also high on the irony scale, on the eight page questionnaire- Section 2, question 3: "Can you read?" My answer: "It's been a long week and my sarcasm superpower is lagging at the moment so, (check) Yes." I've been heading up a different department than usual at work while the supervisor was out on vacation. I don't know how she hasn't gone insane before now. But then she tells me this morning, after the comment, "Oh good, you haven't quit yet!" That she's gone two weeks without smoking and didn't even feel an urge to do so...until this morning. Haha, but sad at the same time. It doesn't bode well for them if they offer me the assistant position here. Hope you feel better, @topslop;. Nice ride, jtaylor996! Happy birthday, Mr. H (though I agree, Heathpack, about Outback. Haven't been there in years.) Welcome back to the States, datlas. The pictures were very nice, hope the trip was enjoyed by all! |

Things have changed. Now you have to order the bread as a separate appetizer. Mr. H was so focused on getting the Onion that he glossed over the bread thing. I saw it on the menu but did not point it out. I figured we were already going epic enough on this meal. Bread is $3.50 extra now. |
