I just got back from the cardiologist. First off, I like the guy, which is important.
Next, I'm getting the cath next Thurs. Wrist should work, but they prep both that and the groin just in case.
He said since I'm young and don't have pains on exertion, I could just do nothing, but on the weight of things it would be better just to go ahead and do the cath. So I'm doing it. We'll see what he finds next week.

I paint with a pretty wide brush when it comes to those cars. Fuji Heavy Industries have some kind of in with Consumer Reports, or something, because those things aren't all that. The newer ones may be better, but I know the 1998-2010 cars were pure money pits, and I don't know how they rank as high as they do. $1200.00 timing belt jobs, and if you're not careful on the DOHC 2.5's, you'll bend a valve just by letting the two cam sprockets rotate a little. It actually allows an intake and exhaust valve to smack each other, and will set a misfire at very light load cruise. Lot's of parts thrown to cure that, with unsuccessful results.
Head gaskets causing mystery hot running issues, wheel bearings, oil leaks from every known orifice, along with the mls head gasket oil leak, and an attitude by the owners that sort of suck.... Present company excluded, and not every Subaru owner is a jerk, but I deal with a lot of them, and the overall smugness equals that of a Pius owner.

I did my own mechanical work on our and our daughter's bugs, and my YZ426F has titanium valves and the Genesis valve configuration head, if I put the cam chain just one notch off its about time to total it and sell off the remaining parts. Motor is scrap then.
Warranties are better now, I am seriously looking at one, I'll keep your heads up in mind though.

I will have you people know that Keifer Sutherland spent several years tracking down and single-handedly subduing terrorists and other ner-do-wells for this great country. All within 24 hours, not even stopping to sleep, eat, or mend his many wounds mind you. Have some respect.

A guy got popped at the track worlds, and we now have a World Champion on our team. Everyone knew the guy was on something, and it's good they got him.
Upside, he's a great guy, and on our team. Downside, he's in my age group, and he's pretty speedy in crits.... I guess I better get cracking.

A Subaru is going into a ditch as badly as any other car if a driver's never driven in snow or icy conditions before. No car, drivetrain, or anything else with the likely exception of studded tires or chains would possibly make up for lack of having been there, done that before.
Anyone who grew up with snow just laughs their butt off at photos like this, until you recall that real people are involved, and it sucked to be them in that instant. But yeah, it is kind of funny seeing that entire states in the South will shut down for a day or two because 1/2" of snow accumulated on the roads.
Growing up in MA we celebrated each snowfall as a potential "get out of school free" card for the next day, but realistically, if it was less than 6" or so the only chance we were getting out of school is if it started after midnight and they just didn't have the time yet to send out the plows and salt trucks. A foot or so we probably got out of school the next day even if it did start earlier than midnight, but it wasn't a guarantee.

So who's the guy who got caught? If he was popped, I'd have no qualms about outing him. And inquiring minds want to know.

Yeah, I imagine it was not epo but rather anabolic steroids, if we are talking track here.

If'n I had money I'd be back in a porsche by now. Thing was a freakin' tank, BY FAR the most reliable car I've ever owned (and that include tracking the thing).

My 2010 Forester XT ain't been the more reliable car I've ever had. Stupid turbo oil screens, leaky head, and a radiator that blew up. Suspension issues, too. Not thrilled with how the ABS sensors are mounted, either.
