It was forecast to be 30P today.
I escaped the heat and the city with some friends. We went and climbed a small mountain near the Main Divide.
The strong Norwester (a foehn wind) dragged a bit of moisture and cloud over the divide providing us with mostly pleasant weather for our hike.
We had a nice mix of terrain: well marked track through beech forest, no track up tussock and rocks to the summit, a scree run to drop down to a saddle and a nice river to follow out.
six hours of walking and 1,000m climbed (and descended). I'm now nicely tired.

Aftermath
Looks like I might lose three pine trees in my backyard. I shoveled my driveway for an hour and a half and I am pretty tired. I guess we got about 8 or 9 inches in total. after I took the picture last night we got another inch or so which covered up with some of the tracks I made. Nap time soon.

Well here I am at work on a Saturday. We just had our Christmas party last night and I got a healthy bonus check that went straight to CC debt which is almost completely paid down. And it looks like the wife and I decided to sit out a party tonight, which gets me more riding time and her a bit of a break in the mostly packed weekend.
We'll see how the weather does. The sun is out today and I might even get to start a ride in the mid-50's.

I said please. I post using phone or iPad so maybe the functionality is not the same as pc. I also have to reduce the size of the picture to get it to upload. But I don't use a third party host so I should get credit for that - no?
