So, my wife and I are trying to sell everything we can before moving and I mean almost everything except the bikes and we even sold one of them today. She's getting all new furniture. Her bedroom set was purchased 45 years ago for $3,000. I remember the sales man saying it would last forever and the styling was classic. It's a cherry colonial style set.
I'm cleaning out the desk tonight and I find the 45 year old brochure and I decide to see if the company is still around. Not only is it still around but they re-introduced our bedroom set as a 45 year anniversary set. She has it in the sale for $800 and it's listed new on sale for over $6,000.
I showed her the website and she never said a word. Just removed the price sticker and threw it away.

I respectfully disagree. I don’t care what people say about how he mistreated this person or that, the main reason they hate him is because his doping admissions broke their little hearts.

It looks like AG and I will be making our southwards move in a couple of weeks; I've finally convinced her to get rid of a bunch of stuff that we lugged through the last two moves and she never used or unpacked.
On the other hand, she also decided she won't really be riding her road bike until October anyway, so I probably won't bother either. Sniff.

I was at a swim meet. I was the Meet Referee and I had plenty of officials so that I did not have to assign myself to a position. For that session, I mostly sat at the Admin table watching over my Kingdom. At around 1:00 pm a Coach walked over to discuss some elements of the meet. Suddenly, I got light headed, my chest felt like it had a ton of bricks on it and my heart rate took off. After a minute or so the light-headedness was going away and some of weight on my chest felt lighter, but my heart was still racing. There was about a half hour of the meet left and I was generally feeling better, so, like a he-man, I kept on. Meet ended and we had a few things to put away, so we did that and headed home. We're getting on to an hour now and my heart rate was still high, but I'm still feeling better. We get home and I sit down with a big glass of water. Drank that and got another. Went to the bathroom and as I'm walking out, I notice that my neck is bulging away with the heartbeat. I go to the bedroom, lie down and a call Mrs. Doug28450. I told her to turn on the light and look at my neck. She does, checks my pulse and says we're going to the hospital. Now, we are at around 2 hours of high heart rate. At the ER I described the symptoms to the receptionist and got the go to the head of the class card. They hooked me up to the EKG, took BP and some other vitals. My heart rate was running around 220 to 230. They took me to an ER room where two Doctors were waiting for me. Went through it with them, they talked a minute or two and recommended a Vagal(?) maneuver where they had me blow into a syringe, then flipped me upside down. When they started the maneuver, my wife said my HR was around 220. After being upside down for maybe a minute, she said my HR was at 190 and falling. All told, my HR was up over 200 for probably 2.5 hours.
Saw a Cardio and got a Sonogram that week. Everything seems to be okay,

[bike crap hand-wringing]
I can't wait for May and the (presumed) power meter sales to arrive. Still undecided on which direction I'll go, but at this point the most likely candidates are: dual-power pedals (Assioma, most likely, but still the possibility of the PowerTaps) or a Power2Max NG Eco crankset. If the CleverTraining sale is 20%, as it has been in previous years, the price will be pretty close between the three options. If P2M decides to have a festive little sale of their own (they've done discounts, thrown in chainrings and free shipping, etc, in the past), then the crankset will be more attractive as I'll get to keep my Speedplays.
Whatever - I just want to get on with it and ride my damn bike. Speaking of which, we should see ~60° and moderate sun for the next few days, so there's hope that even the snowbanks will be gone in short order. I am also producing much less mucus and better able to breathe, so maybe I'll be ready ready to ride in short order, too.

Trying to wean myself from Addiction, so spending more time in C&V. I'm well fed over there. Platform pedals! Steel!. Spoke protectors! Not much in the way of conversation though. I am still being drawn back here, mostly just to read, and no longer reading every post. Life goes on.
