Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Bikes: Thylacines...only Thylacines.

Methinks I spoke to Stubacca on the telephone recently

953? If people want it, we can do it. Same price as Titanium plus whatever it costs to heat treat it, so you're looking down the barrel of sub AUD4000 frame only.

Oh yeah, there's a huge queue at the door

Tigger, go with scandium frame + carbon seat stays + steel forks + ssteel dropouts + carbon seatpost + carbon bars. Put a retro leather saddle on, and double strap toe clips for added effect.

Then paint it in a star spangled banner effect with "I'm horny for George" decals everywhere

I had no idea until Classic posted it somewhere else.

Apparently, Paris-Roubaix highlights are on 'ABS' (that's what some "new" Australians call it), Sunday, the 23rd of April

Might happen sometime when I get rich and famous

Just got the new bicycle vic mag.

They've reviewed two fixies! (Jamis and Specialized)

Does that mean fixies are hitting the main stream?

Did they complain about them not meeting Australian Standards? "And this one has no brakes OR reflectors!" Brettles, if we didn't live in this backwater, we'd know they became mainstream back circa when Crumpler bags started showing up on Home and Away.

I have no idea what those egg/albums are. If any of you saw my CD collection, you'd know why.

Nobody talking about the podium at the Sea Otter Classic?

Nobody talking about the podium sweep at the Sea Otter Classic?

Last Sunday in Monterey California, three Aussies took the top spots at the Sea Otter Classic Pro Circuit Race in Monterey California. It's a difficult "National Calendar Race" with 31 laps of a race track for a total of 70 miles and 9300 feet of climbing. Here's the recap video:

heya bbw. Welcome to bf

While we are talking about fg Ive been looking at ebay to see if I can pick up a cheapish fg. For commuting and lookin cool at uni. (although not many people would recognise what it is) Damn ebay is stupidly expensive atm for bike parts track wheels
Yeah they are probably good wheels but $200 bucks for a set of wheels that have been sitting in the shed for at least 6 years, probably closer to 8-10 years. For me that doesnt make sense.

Atm its probably better just to buy a fg from the states and get it shipped out here. Although resale value will be close to zero.

Bikes: Wilier, Alchemy, Merida MTB,

G'day Steve. Welcome to the mindless drivel that is TAT PartIV.....and bf in general too
Please note too that on TAT we don't really care if you're "bibs or shorts, "campy or shimano".... etc If you need to express your preferences I'm confident there will be a relevant thread started pretty much every 2nd day that will allow you to do so!

Have a good Easter blokes
