The Aussie Thread- Part 4

Wheel Report:- 1740g with rim tape
A little heavier than expected. I forgot to include nipples in my calculations. Think they may have used brass nipples too which are a fair bit heavier than alloy.
Race report:
FGP Dirt Crit Results - Week 3
Picked myself up a 5th in A.
They made the course way longer and droped A grade back to 4 laps.

Yeah, only 240g heavier than the ZTR/SuperComp/SK wheels
Still, they'll be bomber like the Mavic/Onyx loaners which is what you wanted.
I can't believe how consistant your times are. You're like....a machine.

And I'd be 25 seconds behind you.
Those guys probably actually train, so I wouldn't sweat it too much.

That was at 7:49am, Thunder.
I've been pilfering songs off the net all day, so haven't been listening to the radio since this morning. They didn't actually say very much....pretty sure there's more info on the net anyway for those that are interested.

Hey thy I know its great getting broadband and what that entails, but I wouldnt be shouting out that you steal music off the internet. Ive had temporary bans before on another site for discussing where to get stuff. Just a thought from a friend.
Finally went riding today, damn I hate wind even though I'm getting better in riding into it

I wasn't, I was DLing demos and samples, but thanks for the heads-up. There's a thread on the SSers/FG section where guys are listing what they're listening to...plop band name into Google...go to their website...*shazam*. Freebees galore, and a great way to find out about new bands.

The scary thing is there are a few people on the thread who reckon it's really The Jan.
Very funny stuff however.

Hey guys. Got some baaaad news this arvo. One of me mates drove into the garage with his new Principia on the roof of his new Honda.
Bike is trashed from his description. Both top and down tubes ripped from the head tube plus whatever else would logically be stuffed. He's shattered. I'm trying to make him believe it can all be put right. A frame, forks? group should be OK. Wheels??? mmmmmmmm biiig job. But not impossible. Wada u recon?

attained highest OTB score of the year on perfectly flat ground (plank bridge) and broke collarbone. bad v-shaped break near the point of the shoulder and an inch of floating bone debris peeled off the front. hope that gets reabsorbed real fast

pinkie dislocated too, like something from a freakshow. very little bark off due as i was wearing a courier style backpack. it took all the nails and splinters. thylacine shirt, gloves, arm warmers all cut up by the nursing staff. its sad when those young girls can't wait to see an old fart's grey haired chest.
all good now tho. back on the windtrainer as soon as i get the busted forks replaced on the hack bike.

Sorry to hear about your mates Principia. They're frightning bikes anyway - had one come in for possible repairs and the frame broke at the water bottle boss. Read: Full water bottles killed the frame!
Depending on how the bike was attached to the roof, all the bits should be okay. Obviously I'd toss anything that looks like it took a hit.
If he needs a quote for insurance or needs a shoulder to cry on, get him to give me a bell on 03 8309 0005.
Was it here or on mtbr where there was a thread about driving your bike into the garage where some drongo had done it multiple times and actually though it wasn't enbarassing enough NOT to tell everyone?

Question for any Central Coast Cycling Club types out there - does the club have a beginner's section for the more "mature" rider? (hubby wants to know) Website not very informative in this respect.
Thanks,

Bikes: Wilier, Alchemy, Merida MTB,
I am loving the Jan.
Also did the roof rack mounted bike into the carport (at a caravan park) recently.
Fortunately it was my MTB and I only broke the seat.
And Forever Young = cool video, bad song.
