About 4km, 5km max. Road's a bit rough between the bridge over the river and the F3 overpass, but you probably won't notice on a MTB.

Hey, what race is this on the Bianchi USA site? Looks bizare, riding a flash bike with carbon wonder wheels on that goat track.

climbo 05-08-06 11:55 PM

last years Giro D'Italia. They plan to do some more off roading this year.

"The 89th Giro d'Italia's final week gets serious on Tuesday May 23's stage 16 that finishes atop the mythical Monte Bondone, where Charly Gaul won fifty years ago and sewed up his Giro win. The next day is another mountaintop finish at Plan de Corones after a steep unpaved climb. After a transitional stage east through Friuli, the Giro's brutal final weekend finale has yet another mountaintop finish atop Passo San Pellegrino after Forcella Staulanza, Marmolada and Pordoi. Saturday's queen stage is Trento-Aprica including Passo Tonale, the legendary Gavia (Cima Coppi) and super-steep Mortirolo. "

and up a ski sploe no less. the mind boggles at what will eventuate if it rains. maybee the discovery boys will kick out on some carbon trek fuels with drop bars :P

badsac 05-09-06 12:31 AM

That's what I'm wondering. Even if it does stay dry, getting traction and stopping puctures on those surfaces must be hard. Do they do any modifications to the bikes at all? Going by that pic, seemingly not.

Very cool though. :)

Thylacine 05-09-06 12:39 AM

Ah bugger. I seem to have discovered YouTube.

"Brad asks a Ninja - "Are there Ninja Midgets?""
"Yes, there are Ninja Midgets, but they actually prefer to be called....Minjas. They are down there, and they are deadly"

mrkott3r 05-09-06 01:38 AM

Thylacine 05-09-06 01:54 AM

any tips on bike re-spraying? Going to repaint my daughter's bike (found it dumped in good working condition), my wife doesn't like the grey to black fade even though I reckon it's very hardcore cool for a girl. She wants PINK, no way, her favourite colour. Not sure how it'll go with the red rims but who cares. Next she'll want handgrip streamers and a basket... :(

Thought about just sanding it back, taping off the chrome bits and using some auto spray paint.

Thylacine 05-09-06 05:00 PM

Unless you want to spend 250 bucks doing it, that'd be the way to go i reckon.

jock 05-09-06 05:03 PM

enjoy the sanding, it's sooooo much fun especially around the fiddly bits.

spray light, there's nothing worse than idiot drips (speaking from experience) :D

Hi all

I know I'm way of 'Thread" topic here but cannot 'Post' on the Wanted category for some reason.

Anyone have or know of an available set of Mavic Cosmic wheels - clinchers carbon/aluminium units.

kni-time@bigpond.net.au will find me if you can give me a lead

Cheers

Bernie

Sanding by hand will take forever.

Get a wire brush for your drill.
I think I used a 6 inch one originally but actually found that a smaller one (3-4 inch)worked much better.

Still takes ages though.

Sounds good, you could always try one of those auto paint-matching places to get a shade of pink that works with the red rims. Better to strip back to a bare frame for painting, but probably too much work in this case?

But really, you need to nip this pink thing in the bud, or your life will be rendered hideous - just think of pink florals.

I'd love to, but how do I get it onto my computer? It shouldn't be that hard really, my modem and the foxtel box are double adapted off the same cable, what do I need? There's some beautiful stages coming up that I'd love to stealImeanshare with you all:p
I assume I'd need some kind of firewire audiovisual interface? Plus software? Then where do you get it hosted? Could just email it I spose. Who's the guru?

Odin 05-09-06 05:09 PM

Ask kotter about "sharing"
