Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

if you know where to go out west its on every weekend, in one way or another. its just the media decides to take notice and sensationalise it at the moment.

hence, why bankstown isnt NSW's premier tourist destination..... and the southern beaches have always been rough. a lot of hous-o areas round there.

Bikes: Thylacines...only Thylacines.

It's always been another country for the rest of us, but we thought it was a country full of gay merchant bankers and marketing consultants. Turns out it's full of drunk homicidal Lebs and Bogans.

Who woulda thunk it?

Careful, Jock. He may not really be a Hambone. He may be a ham bush.

Thanks, Saccy. Both of those words are allowed. The context is questionable though.

Hey Jock. You rekon good salty fish and chips would be a good feed for lunch on the Alpine? Ring up 20 minutes out of Bright on the way back through and pick it up as we ride through?

Maaate, anything to keep hyponatremia at bay!

Seriously, dunno what to do for lunch. Sure as hell not cartin it up hill and down dale. Mind you, I eat every hour ATM so finding enough shops to buy stuff along the way could be problematic.

I find Pies are also the food of champions. I've got an unwritten rule never to ride past a pieshop. Hasn't let me down yet.

Mate of mine that's coming on it is crazy fast on his old Nishiki touring bike. Might get him to load up with leftover christmas hams and chase us around.

Man! It'd sell like hotcakes! We'd make a fortune!

We'd have to call them the Aussie bars. The bogans would love them. All the better for that extra burst of energy for running from or to a bashing.

Got a plai none at the airport once. I think I've only thrown away 2 pies in my life and that was one of them. Always hear you sand gropers raving about them though, so they must be better over your neck of the woods.

Theres been a couple of Australian flags stolen from coastal cop shop flagpoles in the last few days. The only problem is the cycle path follows the coast. I recon the coppers will be ready for the bogans this weekend!
