Enough Leuchtfeuers and you'll have a bonfire going in the guts. Probably 'sposed to be drunk as a neat chaser, like a Dutch jenever.

was_bmxer 06-02-06 03:26 AM

Ahh yes. Finally get bike built up at shop, pick it up today. Cue rain. I think it is proportional as to how long it will rain v's how much you waited and wanted the new bike.

So expect it to last a while guys, sorry.

I had to pay for this whole bike myself, still waiting for an insurance payout. Though they did call today and it is being done, they knock of 10% for depreciation (bastards). They got sick of trying to get a quote for a custom made bike from Spain. Guy told me he was dealing with the Manu direct (orbea). what a load of cr@p, 2 days later, after me calling & calling they just settle and pay it out.

Have a good weekend folks.

Going to work this morning, sitting in the Honda on Beach Road at the lights of Dendy Street. Looked in the rear view just in time to see the driver of the blue Volvo say "OH F*CK" as before he slammed into the back of me. Cars OK, although is booked in on Tuesday next week to get fixed. Backs a bit sore and have had a head ache all day.

Excuse my ignorance, but are you telling me De Rosa are crap, cause I was thinking about bidding?

I thought that thread was brilliant. Wouldn't play well on BF though.

Matagi - I've got the tag line "Bludy Volvo drivers" in my head, how about you? Hope you're ok. Sof tissue injuries usually take overnight to manifest themselves, so you probably feel like crap today.

Odin 06-02-06 05:01 PM

It's not the Volvo drivers that are the problem, it's Volvo's fault fer wiring up all of their indicators back to front ;)

An old bloke is driving home from work in his Volvo when his wife rings him on his mobile,
"Frank", she says, "Be careful! There was a bit on the news just now, some lunatic is driving the wrong way down the freeway",
"It's worse than that", he replies, "There are hundreds of them!"
:D

Ya got whiplash my little brussel sprout. Probably should be wearing a brace (soft collar type would most likely work in this situation) but sore back and headache = whiplash type injury.

Take it easy and try and sit in chairs with high backs that support your head. That means off the bike for a few days until it all calms down. And if you're lucky you won't end up with a neck which periodically locks up due to muscle spasm (like mine still does after a Diahatsu 2 tonner ran into the back of my Corolla way back in '88)

On the subject of Volvos - has anyone read "Shibumi" by Nigel Trevanian (guy who wrote The Eiger Sanction) there is a lovely Volvo bashing theme running through the story. :)

Saw the doctor this morning...She agrees with your diagnosis. Off work for the week which REALLy sucks cause I can't ride the bike or play golf.:( The good news is she has prescribed Panadol Forte AND Valium to relax the muscles...:D oh yeah and she gave me some light stretching excercises...suppose I'll get around to them, after the drugs off course!

OK lads, so the rain stopped. Rode the new bike today, fark me it's good. Corners like a demon, so stable (eben in the 60kmph??? winds that are blowing here today). Did around a 100 kays on it. Straight away I was confident with it. Had my last alu frame for around 5 years, that took about 6 months to really trust.

I'm excited. Now to get back some of the fitness I lost over the last 6-7 weeks. Lucky I have been riding the steel Pinny, weight training.

Panadnie Forte, scary stuff indeed.

Mmmm Valium! :D

Well, with your week off work, you should go find a copy of "Shibumi" and make yourself feel better reading about Volvo bashing.

OK, here's the deal, I'll read the book and write a brief summary after...ppphhtt, not! If it doesn't have pictures of beeaauuttiful bikes or golf courses, then it's not a book I need to read. (or cars, or motor bikes):D

I hurt my neck a few months ago doing weights or riding or sleeping on a crap pillow -- I'm not really sure how -- but the pain was right up there with the worst I've ever had

10 years of handling auto claims, I might have learned a thing or two. :D And here's a little story to give eveyone a laugh: When I was 16 or 17, I was playing rally driver in my Datsun 110. Needless to say, it ended up on it's roof. (I'll see if I can find a photo) Anyhoo, for a few weeks after, I'd wake up from a dream in which I was being tumbled in a large clothes dryer...

I reckon if I put one on a boat now, you'll have it before Jock delivers the other one. He's dead set on keeping it - even made up a story about a broken collar bone or something like that, just to put you off a few more weeks.

Yeah, of all the cars I've owned, including 4WDs, the one that was 4 inches off the ground ended up on it's roof.
