Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Funny piece of television at the start of tonight's match. Just after the haka, Jerry Collins was down on one knee in the middle of the park, possibly in prayer. So the cameras zoomed in on him, to discover that he was having a wizz and shaking off the snake. Not a word was spoken by the commentators

...and there be proof positive of what all Victorians have been saying for years, "thugby isn't actually a sport". I mean if it was, Kiwis wouldn't be any good at it!

yeah but sprint stages are so boring. I love watching Robbie kick butt in the end but the first 180kms is a yawn-fest usually.

I just thought in past years, there was a lot more mountain climbing stages than what they have this year.

you'll be happier from stage 10 then.....the conspiracy theorist in me thinks that perhaps the TDF organisers put the boring stuff all early this year because some round ball game in Germany was taking attention away from them....just a theory mind, but I'm betting I'm not far off.
