Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Then lets stick with 7:00am Saturday. I'll be watching the clock myself, kids get cranky when daddy is late especially after not seeing him for a week. I hate conflicts of interest like that.

What time do we need to get you home by? 9:30 kosher?

Bikes: 8 bikes - one for each day of the week!

Yeah, that works. Gives me time to have a bit of brekky, shower, etc.

[edit] Yes, you'll need to strap the Silca to your misspelled Giant.

Methinks there'll be a car involved.

There's an e in Gitane, as in www.gitane.net

Expat, I wouldn't care if was called Fred so long as I could enjoy the ride and win the odd race or two on it.

berny, your not alone. I'm so far down the tree I couldn't be bothered following the local scene, even when the internationals come down to play. Just follow the progress of the Aussies and anyone whose name ends with the letters 'OV' in the Tour.

Bikes: a few

So Sat is the day, I'll see what the weekend is looking like and let you know. Is it a ride or a coffee excursion? i.e. bring the road bike or the single speed cruiser?

Southerly just hit Sydney Airport. No rain on the radar yet tho. Conditions could turn out OK for racing tonight.

Here, for the lazy ones:

Pace will be cruisey, and the ride will definitely be interrupted by a long stay at some place what sells melted crayons. BYO tissues. Expat, bring the missus and the Ti Tandem. Back to Lambton by 9:30 so Expat can get to work. Who works on a Saturday? Haven't you ever heard of a sickie?

The recovery ride afterwards will be a 2-3hrs of undulations at a sedate 35kmh
