Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Bikes: 8 bikes - one for each day of the week!

The Aussie dollar still isn't worth that much. I have a feeling that my son that chooses to stay here when we move will be getting a lot of packages from us.

Im just an innocent climbo. I wouldn't have any part in anything like that.

Besides, he had Stuey with him, plus he wouldn't let me go on top wearing his national champs jersey, so I said no.

heaps of others. Sun Tour is at a good time of year....pros would rather sell than lug back to Europe.
Ebay charity bikes
Petacchi's Pinarello Dogma went for Euro4,610 / US$5,598 / Aus$7,409
Petacchi's came with Cosmic Carbons. I assume that the retail price would be around $12,000 Aus, from a domestic LBS.
Better value than Henks Colnago, in the sense that the value should be maintained.
What is the better cred on Hell Ride. Riding Petacchi's Dogma or winning Hell Ride or is it strictly poseur value because I could have bought the Dogma but would get shunted out the back once it hits Oliver's hill. Hahahah, no respect to the bike.

Heras' Vuelta winning bike of 2005 went for Euro24,600 / US$29,876 / Aus$39,537
Manolo Saiz ended up buying the bike, probably knowing the drug positive was in the works and therefore the buyer would end up wanting a refund

a good mate of mine rode with him when he was also a triathlete. They were both triathletes at that time, and he thought he was not as strong as him. My mate also represented Australia in triathlon in the age group amateurs, and was one of the better triathlete bike riders.

I'd liken him most to Tommy Nankervis....powerful, excellent sprint.

Pisser.....

Should've offered him a couple of tickets to the Great Leader's private box for the Olympic Games opening ceremony.

if for some reason it is so cold and they are wearing longs at Flanders, in those knicks Franky boy will look more like a male ballerina dancing on the Muur, cross with an Elf . If it is wet though, they will be in the saddle right Ed? too slippery...

2 months 27 days before he is in the lock up for setting off his shot gun in a populated zone

3 months 5 days before Chocolade Jacques sign him. Frankie tears up the contract and turns out in Lanbouwkrediet colours.

If it's wet, Muur will be a seated affair. Koppenberg will be hoofing it, 'cross-style.

Seriously, I'd love to see VDB in the finale at the Ronde or LBL....Phil and Paul would be having paroxyms of ecstasy in the box!

Anyone interested in a satirical website, I am floating ideas. I have bought (not really) the domain name

www.VandenbrouckesDog.com

I already have my Allan Jones/John Laws/Bill O'Reilly/Rush Limbaugh opinion commentator *parody thereof,

he has quite hairy so his handle and column will be titled "forearms Van Pete", I don't have a handle yet, still working on it. If anyone has any concepts and ideas don't mind throwing em my way.
