Why Growling dog? is it the creatine that your after? perosnly if its just an energy bar that your after i think the enervit bars are by far the best.

badsac 01-17-06 11:07 PM

There are all available at woolies yeah? Nobodies recommending powerbars so I know not to get them. Might have one each of the Dog and enervit bars for dinner tonight to see which one's nicer. ;)

BTW, me and a mate who's doing the Alpine have this strange history where I think for 90% of the organised events we do which involve riding or running, we'll get bucketed on. Good to see we are keeping up our track record. :(

envervit is only availiable in bike shops, maybe rebel sport as well. Power bars are OK, but hard to chew. not good on the bike food imho.

ed073 01-17-06 11:13 PM

Gerro wins.

Sanchez, McEwen, Walker.....all near the pointy end.

Peloton still riding....

531Aussie 01-17-06 11:18 PM

Like powerbars, the dog is hard to chew on the bike. If you take of a piece of any decent size you may find it difficult to breathe properly: not pleasant. I solve that problem by slicing it into very thin strips and shoving it all into a ziplock.

Most bars will be rock hard in cold conditions and rubbery when its hot.

I went for the protein/carb ratio. It wasn't until later that I read their lies about all the creatine, ATP, EPO, etc that's in it.

thats the adv of the enervit bars, even at normal room temp they are quite soft, they do get a lil melty at the hot end, but nothing too bad.

Too right.

Le Skippy's protege from Mansfield, more baby-faced than Oscar Sevilla.....looking down the barrel of a great 06

Not me....I'm more old skool than Grandmaster Flash and Slick Rick.

Time is pure quality......if it were my cash, I'd go for that over the Look.

(Hope Hitchy doesn;t read this...)

thunder 01-18-06 12:08 AM

Evans is from up there too, imagine a training bunch, Anderson, Walker, Evans and Gerrans. Walker is only 15 mins from the foot of the Dandenongs in Ivanhoe.

think Evans is live down near Torquay now. Wonder if he does any climbing in the Yu Yangs :D

Every time I hear the words "Look carbon frame" the words 'cracked' or 'broken' are somewhere in the same sentence. :p

531Aussie 01-18-06 12:15 AM

the VXRXSRSRXR frame-set retails for $7000 at Fitzroy Cycles

I'm also a bit old school when it comes to carbon, but the right price might change my mind

thunder 01-18-06 12:26 AM

sorry pshaw, only got an old cannondale which is my excuse when everyone passes me.

Times are the most expensive stock bike in the peloton are not they? That is not the top of the line frameset is it... big $$$, hope you get a good discount.

pshaw 01-18-06 12:28 AM

Thanks, I like the look of the Time :D

Im relativley new skool in terms of yrs experience with roadies, although my current bike is steel.
Just got some cash and the opportunity of some semi affordable carbon F&F.

I'm checkin what else is on the go an may report back in case one of you fellas is interested.

badsac 01-18-06 12:31 AM

What's a F&F?

thunder 01-18-06 12:33 AM

Wilchemy 01-18-06 12:33 AM

I'll give you a sweet deal on a slightly used Specialized with a bent rear skewer. It's got a F&F and it's carbon. Everything you're after! :D
