I gotta say I am quite pleased with it. Nice crisp lines and the paint is in the right spots for durability. I have never owned a blue bike for this but it has deeply grown on me. Probably my next Ti bike I want to do some custom anodizing work so probably a Firefly gravel bike of some sort being I have two ti mountain bikes (Habenero 26 and Salsa Timberjack Ti) and I have been lusting after a Firefly and their anodizing work for years.

my ti bianchi is ugly grey it needs some love.
my last ti bike was eddymerckx had great paint metallic orange front end all but stays looked great sold for new carbon....miss it.

You sold a Merckx for some carbon jobber...boo-urns.

A Bianchi with some nice Italian stripes delineating some celeste green would look really slick with a good polished rear end (or bead blasted is fine as well...works for Moots)

Paint on my ti frame allows me to have the bike I've always wanted. (Very) red. Damage? It's just paint. I'm paying for paint anyways - fork. And unlike a steel frame, if it gets damaged, noting rusts. Too beat up? I get to do it again and choose a new color if I want. All good. And I don't sweat the weight. I ride ti for the ride.

Still extra weight that you have to carry up every single hill..
Naked ti frames don't need to worry about getting scratched up, park anywhere put lock around frame without worry, never need re-paint..
my Litespeed is near 20 years old, never need re-paint, cost & weight saving nearly 20 years.
Those advantages are not even an opinion, just facts.

I understand your comments about not needing to be repainted or scratched.

The weight comments are just funny though. Paint is an average of 4.5oz of weight. Your comment makes it seem as if by painting a frame you are lugging bowling balls up hills.

Then there is the opinion of some- brushed naked TI is uninspiring and paint or color on a ti frame improves the look.

But I really just wanted to post because the weight comment caught my attention.
that 4.5oz can be offset and saved in wheels, or in saddle and stem, or in drivetrsin, or in frame material(eek!).

4.5 oz is about 127gm; I would imagine paint would be more than 4.5 oz.
Do you mind giving a source where you found that paint for frame is about 4.5 oz.?

Metalics will weigh more and can hit 400g. Single color base and clearcoat can be 100- 150g.

Like everything in cycling- it varies. But 4.5oz is a reasonable average based on how few metalics I see.

This is based on 2 frames I have weight before stripping paint, after the strip, then after being repainted. Additionally, its based on a frame I built and had painted(weight it before and after), and then also a frame I weight before stripping then had powdercoated(which is k own to be heavier)

So 4 frames. Admittedly not some vast sample size, but its actually a sample size and not a WAG.

I wasn't aware that this thread existed but I am so glad I found it. Here is a photo of the Litespeed Arenberg I just bought. Full Campy Daytona 10-speed groupset, Kestrel EMS full carbon fork, Spinergy wheels. All in all a great bike and I love riding it.

I have been stripping & painting bike frames for over a decade, more than a few dozen frames.
Paint & clear coat on a frame size 54cm is more than 300gm on average if you want a durable paint job.
Larger frame size even more than 400gm.
With larger sample size, I'd say that your numbers are off.

yes. 3 sets of wheels for all situations.
tan are panaracers 35's on mavics
28's slicks on old school shimano 600
also 32 ritcheys on mavics.
group was swapped over from 853 steel Lemond both craigslist finds.
great bike. I usually ride the 35's. fast smooth. about max size tire. gold was some $100 headset wanted some bling also needed low stack as not much tube length.

My 2020 Lynskey R300. ENVE fork. Semi custom with internal cable routing. SRAM Force 1x drivetrain. Mavic Pro Carbon wheels. SMP Drakon saddle. Very comfortable ride and quite responsive.
