Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

I cracked one of the seatstays on my 2005 Lemond Versailles and swapped the parts onto the 2007 Buenos Aires frame. I would like to put on a new wheelset and switch to a compact drivetrain (the front derailleur is much trouble), but finances make that somewhat of a dream.

This picture is on a causeway over part of Lake Champlain on a four day ride from Ottawa to Maine.

Thanks -- twilight does a lot for making better pictures.

I did another one to put the Jefferson Memorial in the middle of the bike frame. You can kinda see the "Handmade in USA" sticker, which is cool; but, to keep with the theme of the pic, I avoided the prominent Shimano logo on the rear wheel right next to the seatstay..

Only critique: drive train side, pedals lined with chain stay, lose the dork disk/bottle/seat bag (for the picture), and 53-12

Other than that, I really like the pic. (suggestions would make it perfect)

They're misaligned on purpose to better show both the the smaller "Cannondale" sticker on the chainstay and the names on the crank;

lose the dork disk/bottle/seat bag (for the picture),
Eh, didn't even think of those.. ;

and 53-12
Dude, coming back home up Capitol Hill would smoke me.. lol

*edit* Ah, I see what you mean.. yeah, didn't think to shift to 53-12, either.

I'll take another pic, just for you, when I get around to it.

Actually, I ended up flipping it last night after getting some more advice at the shop. Felt a lot better on my back on the Point tonight, and I'll see if it helps on another route later this week.

And take those bottle cages off your Scott...

Actually, I might bring mine down to Dallas later this month during our State Fair gig. It'd be a shame to spend this much (it's a lot for me) on a bike and not use it for three weeks.

Send me a pm if you come down. We'll have to go for a ride. What are you doing at the state fair?

Six days a week (every day but Wednesday) doing concerts at Marine Corps Square at 4 PM, then leading off the Starlight Parade before we bail for the night.

Good stuff; I'll take my Wii and the bike, and keep myself occupied in my off time.. lol

As opposed to the "Shimano Close" stamp on the skewer lever and Shimano dork disk.
