Wrong, those people who say they won't post their bikes here simply seem to have an actual understanding of how their bike will be taken from the general public. Doesn't mean that they themselves don't care for their own bike.

I understand what it is for CB. Personally I think the title should be changed to something a bit more similar to what actually happens in here, but thats just my opinion. Not a good way to attract new members or make current members feel comfortable posting their bikes (as 2 members already expressed reluctance since my submission alone to post pics of their bikes). But if the majority needs a safe space to tell the "new" guy to stay off his yard then so be it. I've gotten what I needed from here and had a few chuckles while poking fun at the old guard.
P.S. You are welcome for me stirring the nest and adding 3 pages of comments in a short time to show the advertisers how popular your site is. |
Oi!
Y'all just need to stop responding to this guy. He is simply gaming this thread. He doesn't give a rats arse what anyone says. Despite being all but kicked out by a moderator, he is going to just keep sneaking in his smug attempts to get the last word...just let him have it. |

Doesn't mean that they themselves don't care for their own bike. They just know the set up isn't something that would attract a hot from most people in this thread. They have a thread for that. It's called "what bike do you ride". You appear to have one of those personalities that enjoys disagreeing with what people say, no matter what they say. Your bike works good for you and apparently you're a cat 1 racer with how fast you say you are. Someone so confident in their abilities, yet seems to have such a fragile ego and can't handle the fact that NOBODY likes your bike or how it is set up. But keep puffing that chest bud. Rock on with those record breaking KOMs that you undoubtedly have, thanks to that rocket of yours.
Not sure if I'd rather have my hot bike ONLY bring in a page worth of hots OR find out that it was SO incredibly ugly and set up wrong that it drew 3 pages of head scratching wtf's. This ^^^^^^^^ |
I don't know where the idea comes from that slammed stems and so forth are the only ways a bike might be 'hot' in the eyes of the "general public" Sure, such things are traits commonly seen as characteristic of 'hot' bikes, some folks set themselves up as authorities to say so, and bikes that don't conform to such standards can readily be labeled 'idiosyncratic.' But when any deviations from some comprehensive set of standards disqualifies a bike from further consideration, things do get really boring really fast; nothing is really hot anymore, it's merely conforming.
I'm not suggesting that there shouldn't be any standards here, but I do think a lot of judges here could be a little more open-minded to diversity - to ways all road bikes need not be so much alike. It would be one thing if we were all looking for the one most ideal and perfect bike, but we're not; we're just talking 'hot' or not, and a bike can be VERY hot, yet very far from perfect at the same time. |
The pic/dialogue ratio is way, way out of wack on this thread.
Post your bike or don't but please stop dictating how everyone is supposed to react. The point of this thread, I thought, was basically to just get a visceral reaction in response to an attempt to post a nice photo of a nice bike. Folks respond "Hot" or "Not" with maybe a little commentary and then we move on to the next photo. No hard feelings, nothing personal. My god, how "2017" for people to come out of the woodwork suddenly trying to rehash how we should feel about a picture of a bike. Gah. |

So.... guess it's time I posted a gratuitous, non-conforming, judgement-target bike, see if anyone calls it hot or not.... https://www.bikeforums.net/picture.p...ctureid=528965 I ride it on the road mostly, so nobody can say it's not a road bike. :p |

Srsly tho. It's cool to see hot bikes of various flavors. And if your butt is tender, don't ask what people think of you. :thumb: |

Fender/mud guards are not hot. Are those some kind of toe straps for pedals? I can’t tell from iphone resolution. They are not hot too. But I get that you are probably commuting with this and if so I get the need for those items. Without them, the bike is hot IMO.
How are you liking the 1x set up and what gearing you using? The bike came with a 40t chain ring and 11x42 cassette. I switched to a 46 when I got the bike and that worked really well for the predominantly road miles that I was putting on it, but in preparation for a local ride with tons of climbing and really REALLY steep grades, I put the 40 back on. Wound up missing that event, but haven't put the 46 back on. It runs out of gears quickly on the road, but since I'm invariably just riding around solo with it, it's no big deal. Did some group rides before I switched to the smaller chain ring and it was fine, but I won't do group rides with it again until I put the bigger one back on. Can't say I miss the front derailleur, but I do miss the button for dropping to a smaller cog that my other geared bikes have. |

What do you think of this with these wheels on it? Keep in mind it's a Shimano equipped bike. According to an article I read from Lennard Zinn, I could just throw a campy 11 speed cassette on them and the Shimano 11 shifters would shift it fine. The 30MPH cross wind gusts got my attention last week end with the 64mm Comete wheels that came with the bike and I thought I might just throw these on for windy days and they are also 150gram lighter so maybe try them out when I am going up into the mountains.

I like the overall look you've got going on, and I happen the like wheels without the deep sections. But the sternum-punch steerer needs to be attended to.
|
The wheelset looks fine, but I'm not a fan of the rest of the bike.

Shiny braking surface doesn't match the rest of bike.. full carbon rims for better (aesthetic) result.
Off positioned crank arm rotation, throw off the hotness.. need to align seat tube or chainstay. |
What's with that carpet? Was it priced to move, making it irresistible? ;)
|
I like the bike but some Ceramic brake surface would make it look better.
