Love seeing old steel frames with modern components, especially when you get them under 20 pounds. Sort of like 60's muscle cars with modern wheels and suspension on it. Love that look.

2012 Trek Madone 4.6
SRAM Red- Black Edition GXP compact crankset
SRAM Rival DoubleTap, FD, RD
SRAM 1050 11-28 cassette
TRP R920 caliper set
Vuelta Corsa Superlite wheelset
Bontrager R4 tires (love these)
Look Keo Plus pedals

Been upgrading to get it at least all Rival, the Apex FD and brakes are gone. I have a 1070 cassette on the way, then probably going to do a couple of RXL bottle cages and call it done. I strayed out of the group on the caliper set. I rode those 920R TRPs on a friend's bike, squeezed the levers and darn near threw myself from the bike. He was parting the bike out, and gave me a good deal on a swap from the stock calipers.

Thanks for looking.

2012 Felt Z85. Dork disc still on there, don't really care haha. Will probably switch out the free aluminum bottle cages for some plastic or composite ones.

I'll say it again, one of the best Cervelo builds to date. H.O.T.

Personally, it looks better than the custom madone posted a couple pages back. I'd get rid of the OEM cage but everything else works. HOT.

I like this build as its another one of those framesets you don't see often, but when you do, nothing but compliments for a great looking bike. HOT.

Thanks for the kind words!

Hey SA you like the Praxis rings now that you have had them a while?

Better ride, less rolling resistance, minimal weight, and aero penalty. If I would of scraped all the old glue off first. The weight difference would have been less.

For my weight (200 lb.) I have thought of just switching over to 25c tires all around

Awesome. Not for me but I would love to take it around the block a few times.

Reminds me of that movie Tron, or maybe a zebra. Normally I find black bikes passe because there are so many, but yours looks cooler than most. Have fun!

It's not that these bikes aren't nice, but I feel like the Hot or Not thread has dropped it's standards quite a bit to compensate for UCIMBZ nazi-like approach. Nice bikes, not really Hot though. All the bikes on this page are Stock, no?

heh thanks, didn't think about the Tron thing but you're right. After riding a bright yellow bike for so long I'm glad I went with something in black. Red has always been my favorite color so I love the red accents on it.

+10! I feel the majority of the bikes posted here belong in the "show us your bike" thread.

It is the hot or not thread, cast your vote. If this was the bike porn thread likely these bikes would never have been posted. Sorry to get you away from looking at the same three bikes.

sbxx1985 10-03-12 08:24 AM

OK. I'll say it. A bike with a dork disk shouldn't be posted here. You might not care, but it violates thread standards.

Flip it.

The spark that got UCIMBZ banned was an ugly, poorly photographed bike. It's too bad. The dude had the nicest collection of bikes on BF.

The post your bike thread often has nicer bikes.

+1. I often wondered if he was in the biz or just extremely compulsive with loads of disposable income. Or both.

Soloist Assassin 10-03-12 08:42 AM

Thanks Primo!

I love them, and I really didn't want to buy them. They are pricy, but light shift great, and I haven't killed the small ring yet. I've killed numerous Sram 34t rings, one in less than a month.

I really like the 25R/23F combo. It seems to turn better too. I love that setup now. It is fantastic. I bought 25R for all my clincher wheels now too.

ravenmore 10-03-12 09:24 AM

If they are not hot, just say not. All the bikes on this page so far are a not for me. Nice bikes, just nothing special.

He has some nicely spec'd and setup bikes...but speaking visually...they never really appealed to me. None of them had an aggressive look to them.

I guess I prefer more "fast" looking bikes like SA, Wooosh, and Primo's rides...
