:) I wouldn't be conflicted at all. I never cared what either of them thought about the bike, I merely disagree with their opinion.

Your several responses seem to indicate that you care about the opinions of others a little too much.

get stuffed. you wouldn't be saying that if there was a porsche behind the bike instead of a poorly maintained fence.

You're entitled to believe whatever you want.

C'mon ya knob, you know I like the olde stuff. The only vehicle you could lean your bike on to make me happy would be a TR-3, or something along those lines :)

Does anyone else thing Rotor Q-Rings look bad on non Rotor Cranks?

BMC has a funny rear end. I just can't into it.

You are wrong, but it's ok. I'll allow you to be wrong whenever you like.

Hot.

Thanks! I tried not to overdo it with red. Just small bits on saddle, brake calipers, fork, C on the wheels and gave red cables a try. I think it looks great. Good eye. It's on the W&OD but I was pretty far out by Leesburg and it was pretty deserted. Closer to Vienna I take it easy as it gets crowded on a nice day.

Thanks. I take it you're not a Sram fan, which is fine. I like it a lot :)

I agree with you somewhat. I've seen some combinations that looked horrible. I think the Sram crank pulls it off ok.

Every time I see pictures of bikes leaning against sports cars, I cringe.

What is more acceptable for a non flexible guy like me? More spacers or a "happy" stem?

I realize that no spacers, deep drop and a flat stem is preferred, but that simply isn't possible for moi. SO... what's the next best thing? Right now, I have a carbon fork already cut with just one spacer in, and it's not changeable so I had to buy a 17 degree stem and install it up to get the bars where I need them...

*Ahem* this isn't the Bike Fit thread. Do what you want or need for the proper fit, but if the resulting appearance isn't conducive to meeting the rules of the Hot r Not thread then you need to make temporary changes prior to photography and then restore the bike to its ergonomically correct (to you) state after the pictures are taken.

Summary, in this thread:
Presentation > Fit

WhyFi 03-25-13 10:03 AM

^^^ Correct.

kcollier5 03-25-13 10:04 AM

No, I understand that. I'm just asking the "Presentation Experts" which is better. I realize that neither are considered hot. I just wanted to know which is less offensive...?

coasting 03-25-13 10:06 AM

no one really cares, i think.

Here's a nice example of someone taking the time to compose his/her entry.

If I were to pull a Bianchi10 and really nitpick on something I will say.. Hmmm the saddle is too pointy. ;)

I would go with spacers and a level stem over slammed and upright.
