How about tis? Without the bike lights and with soul s4.0 wheels

clichty 05-23-13 07:17 AM

^^HOT. Matching seat and handlebar tape is nice, but given the bike is a full mix of white and black I think its just fine.

It's not just you. Tons and tons of nots.

I'm sure, mine are some of them, but I am glad I am not the only one.

I agree completely. The lights gotta go.

You definitely should look into a bigger frame.

Crank position is fine...valves are at 12o'clock instead of 6o'clock but I can forgive that.

Only thing I'd change would be black brakes instead of silver.

crank is in acceptable position. most do 3 O'clock but aligned with the down tube is alright as well.

Bike has potential. Here are 3 things for me that would make it pretty freaking hot in my book. I dont like that seatpost. I dont like that type of setback, though it is better than the thomson setback. Getting a different seatpost like a ritchey, easton, 3T...etc would be more pleasing to my eye. I have never been a fan of -17deg stems. I think a -10 would look better. In fact, i think getting rid of your spacer stack and going with a -6 degree would look best. I have never liked that fizik bartape. Last, Cut that spacer tower above the stem.

Yea, the whole RD/brakes thing should be black....that was $$ driven purchases at the time.

Hmm, it's a 3T seatpost. I am still messing around with the stem. I have a -6 I could try and use that like you said and see how it fits.

bianchi10 05-23-13 03:54 PM

didn't realize 3T seatposts were so ugly :p

I kid I kid! I just visually like seeing the curved setback

gc3 05-23-13 03:58 PM

personally, my take on the Cervelo is "plenty nice"....even though the brand is not my fave, this example is adequately subdued...

the spacer stack is my only real issue...

if the 17 degree stem works best for you, i'd live with it...what are you going to do, switch it out every time you update on this thread?

don ferget yer murland breffist of aigs and arnjuice

If you wanted to look into an inexpensive brake caliper purchase, you could look into Planet X. These were $109. When installed properly, I find them comparable to my ultegra calipers I had on prior.

what handlebars are those? the one thing I hate about going with old quill stems is that there's so few 26.0d/25.4d handlebars that have the brifter friendly bends (shorter reach and smooth flat transitions).

Budget submission.

Good point. I almost put it as that, but I figured I might see one good looking Trek sometime in my life.

It hasn't happened yet, but it could...

bianchi10 05-23-13 05:19 PM

I have seen a couple hot treks, but it takes A LOT more than a stock set up to make a trek look good IMO

YOJiMBO20 05-23-13 05:24 PM

I don't know how it can be done.

I was at the Race Village for stage 1 of AToC, and a buddy and I stopped by the Trek P1 trailer and every frame was hideous.

Maybe they intentionally put the ugliest bikes possible out or something, but I didn't see one that I liked.

I did, however, like one particular shade of blue used on part of one bike...

bianchi10 05-23-13 05:53 PM

I'm looking for it but cant find it. There is an all black trek madone that I think is on this forum that is really sexy. This trek below is an example of what I would consider Hot. There are only a handful of hot treks in this world so they are hard to find lol. I'd ride this one though
