By being abandoned in a moldy, dusty garage? What a sad destiny. :(

And we all know that this is NOT the thread for that, right?

That frame color somehow makes that look good. For a don't give a flip commuter/cyclocross I like it.

This gets a hot from me. That saddle looks super grungy tho (or I guess it could be a shadow).

Nope, its grungy. I have about 20k miles on that saddle. Frame and wheels are new, everything else was pulled off an old bike.

Fox Farm 11-30-16 12:28 AM

I would agree that the set back post makes no sense with were you have your saddle positioned. Your stem looks long, 120-130? Maybe too long which is why you have can't run the saddle back a bit? Speaking of saddle, the nose is heavy looking. Also a mix of SRAM and Shimano, BUT, a nice bike.

Fiery 11-30-16 08:44 AM

The saddle seems to be clamped right around the middle section of the rails. The big nose makes the saddle look like it's jammed forward on the seatpost.

Oh, and I would guesstimate the stem to be 110 mm.

franswa 11-30-16 08:50 AM

Saddle is fugly. Would have been a tiny bit hotter if seatpost and stem were from same manufacturer. Sram/Shimano mix isn't helping. Lastly, Gatorskins will never be hot in my book.

That's exactly it-- the saddle is a weirdo TT thing, so it's visually nose heavy. A normal saddle looks, well, more normal in that position. That's indeed a 110mm stem.

As for the rest of it, this is a spare bike, so it eats up a lot of discarded parts from other builds, as well as a sprinkling of Craigslist and junk store bits. I work with what I have, or can buy for under $15.

I'd love to someday have a full SRAM Red group all around this thing, because that would look dope, but all my other bikes are Shimano-centric, and that's a good amount of coin to drop on something that started its life with me as a $250 secondhand frame. For now, the SRAM/Shimano works beyond reproach, and pleases me to no end.

It is getting an ENVE fork (NOT under $15) and a better saddle soon enough, so perhaps all y'all will like it a little better then.

Thanks for all the comments!

Here is my '07 Colnago Extreme Power. Campy Record with Zero Gravity featherweight brakes. FSA wingbars & Speedplay Ti Frogs. Easton/Velomax wheels w/Velomax hubs. Michelin tires.
It rails pretty nicely.
Hot or not.

Although not staged correctly (wheels), it's hot. Would rather see something different for bar tape color :)

I new stem and bar tape. saddle tilt seems a little too forward doesn't it? hmm

I happen to have white pedals too, but too lazy to put them on. besides, the beat up pedals gives it character.

I like the bike as a whole, looks purposeful. The Red crank also matches the rest of the Ultegra groupset quite well, and all of the components match the frame so it all works together visually. The TT saddle is the only thing that really stands out for me.

Are you looking for the "upgrade regret" thread? It's thatta way ------>

At the time I never thought of a 'staging' photo. Everything is there though. I WAS thinking candy APPLE red bar TAPE. :roflmao2:
Thanks!

Hot for sure assuming the color is in fact purple...but still hot if not. I would have stuck with a black stem.

poor fluorescent lighting at the apartment. color is royal blue. looks even more purrdy in real lighting.

I needed a 130 stem, and this was the best option on ebay in terms of performance and price, and it happens to be white. the new 40 cm handlebars also happens to be white, so I put on white tape to make it a set.

Not really. It looks like a very nice bike, and I rather like it, but the distribution of the white areas is incomprehensible. Maybe if it had a white saddle, but I dunno.... No, that wouldn't do it.
