Nah not really. Pretty much applies to anything that's been sitting in a box/unused/unsold inventory being sold at a pretty good discount to clear it out. In some cases below cost. That's how I got my Red cranks.

Oh and I certainly wouldn't turn my nose up at Fuji bikes. They make some great stuff and can be an incredibly good value. I actually went looking for my SST. I was also shopping Cannondale CAAD, Giant, and Specialized at the time but picked the Fuji over them.

Think you're reading too much into what people post here. Nobody was turning their nose up at the Fujis - they look like nice bikes. Spend some time in the C&V forum and you'll see what I mean about NOS (and you'll also see some very nice vintage Fujis :) )

Thanks - although not everybody thinks that way. There are definitely some people who don't take them seriously and not just here. I recently had someone say something to me in person along those lines. :) I think it might be because the brand is sold at places like BD and Performance and aren't super expensive. I really don't care. I like stiff aggressive bikes and the SST fits that to a T. ;)

I'd say go for all black OR all white seatpost, and same for stem.

Skinwalls good as accent color on monochrome bike but on a white/blue/black it's a bit too busy

Overall good effort. 89% rounded up. A-

Seatpost comes with the frame, though in the future I might consider an all black post and keep the Colnago post in storage. I'm still undecided on the stem, but IMO a white seatpost and stem would be too much. I sort of agree that the post and stem are a little busy.

I like skinwalls on everything, so that's never going to change. I do appreciate the input, though.

Colnago is hot. I wish the stem/seat post were solid black, but that's nit-picking. Overall, very nice.

More importantly, the seat should be white.

Or the tape black

Contrary to what others have said, given the design of the frame, the mix of black and white on the seatpost, stem, bars and saddle are all correct. What I can't get over is how tiny the bars look.

I'm a little baffled by this comment--at 139mm drop and 83mm reach, 3T Tornovas are a pretty traditional deep drop. What about them looks tiny?

I'm baffled, too. It must be some kind of optical illusion, their angle, or my astigmatism playing tricks on me. Happens a lot.

I know I'm going to get slammed for the mis-matched open pros but oh well, it's all in good fun. Older moots with some newer components.

Wheel choice is hot.

Bar tape and saddle don't match
Skinwall/gumwall tires just ruin the whole thing
Seatpost is having an identity crisis. Would look better black.

Hmmm... putting it in a sauna is one way to make it hot.
Mismatched front wheel goes with your mismatched fork. I like it fine that way.

Enve is an OEM option. So technically, not mismatched.

That said, the MOOTS is not hot, but with a few adjustments, I'd ride it.

If everything was blacked-out (seatpost, stem, fork) w/a badass wheelset, it'd be in the running for 'hot'.

But as it is, this is what I'd call, "really nice, not 'hot' "; and it'd be better IMO w/silver components (and at the least, all the same, either black or silver, not a mix).

I know you guys hate this bike but just put some updates on it. Saddle is coming off but I thought it looked nice so left it for the pic.

I think the main problem is that it looks like a "Bike Of The Future" artist concept from the late 90s - A little dated without actually being dated.

That said, I bet if you updated the drivetrain and de-badged the wheels, it would get more love around here.

Nicely set up. I like the frame and love the radiant blue (impressive matching with the bar tape, but not sure that I like it more than plain black). Do not like the wheels - rims that deep look like out of place on a road bike, to me.

What's your saddle angle? It looks seriously tilted up.

Thanks - I wanted to take the wheel labels off but they are under the clear coat. I'll probably change cranks soon as well mostly because I want shorter crank arms. Tempted to go SRAM 11 speed but not sure I want to lay out the investment in this bike. It may not win this thread but it's a great riding bike the way it is.

Force 22 would be the way to go. And maybe get a matte-black seatpost. That would look really nice with your other black parts. Bummer about the wheel labels, but not so bad.
