I don't mind the mix and match, but what I can't get over is that chain ring. So solid and bulky looking. What's is it - plastic? galvanized steel? lead?

What have you ever cleaned it with? It looks terribly oxidized. Maybe it's just the photo, but honestly, I've never seen one that looked worse (the FD seems to have the same flat, gray dinginess, too) - terribly distracting, especially with how nice and well-kept the bike looks otherwise

FreedBehindBars, that is a real nice Klein Quantum. I like the white saddle and tape on there. Looks classy.

Beautiful Colnago Master. I almost bought a new F&F this year but the Canadian distributor is hard to work with so I bought something else. |

Took some glamour shots of my trusty Black Mountain Cycles Road this past weekend and with recent fitting adjustments applied. She's not terribly lightweight and is a rather pedestrian build compared to some, but I really love riding this bike which is perfectly spec'd for and handles the rural terrain where I ride it with aplomb. It's also a modern nod to (in my mind anyway) the steel bikes of the early 90s when I started out.

Thanks for your comments, I'm probably far too thrifty and practical to get that deep into the weeds, lol, but on a couple points:
Seatpost - I had the matching Ritchey comp on there, but I needed a little less setback after a fit session, this post was in my parts box had an equal weight and worked. I thought of getting a Thomson 0 deg, but then the stem doesn't match! Brakeset - I also have a black brakeset in my parts box I could've used here, but after much deliberation I went with Silver. Tied in with Silver pedals and I thought they just looked more classic with the Molteni orange. Was too much black I thought. ....oh yeah, and you missed the Warning sticker on the front wheel and 105 levers ;)

My most recent grab. $600 steal.
2013 Giant TCR SLR1 Ultegra came with: Mavic Ksyrium (Equipe?)wheels Conti GP4 25c's Zipp Service Course CX bar tape http://i47.photobucket.com/albums/f1...psjpizuiyh.jpg Finally my first road bike that could accommodate 28's on both ends. Threw on my Campagnolo Zonda C17 2017's with 28c Schwalbe One Folding clinchers. http://i47.photobucket.com/albums/f1...pstzazgkb3.jpg http://i47.photobucket.com/albums/f1...pszp0i5fbf.jpg |
Nice. I didn't know Giant made TCR AL. Have fun with it, but it's not "hot" enough for this thread IMO.

Thanks! Handlebar is a Ritchey WCS Neoclassic.

What bar is that? EvoCurve? I have that bar, and the Ritchey stem as well.

Stiffer around the bottom bracket than the TCR Advanced and Advanced SL composite bikes, only just behind the pro-issue TCR Advanced SL with integrated seatpost and a Cannondale SuperSix in that years lineup. http://www.fitworkscycling.com/uploa...atafinal-1.pdf Its fast and efficient like a higher end race bike should be. $2400 bike for $600, mint and Ultegra.... Loving it. |

I love it. |

I love it. Yeah it doesn't pop and draw attention like my Smurf Blue  2010 CAAD 9 5, but its a very handsome, sharp looking bike in person. This is a much nicer riding and equipped bike all things considered having paid similar price for it. I feel the Campy's def look a lot nicer on this frame for sure. TCR looks all-business. Next year i'll likely pt a nice aero bar on it and put a bar tape with more personality. For now its great, it was exceptionally cared for and clean. |
Few changes:
* Black Super Sticky Kush tape * FSA Stem and Bar Nibali Edition * S-Works Turbo All Round Tubulars * Campy Record chain https://scontent-atl3-1.xx.fbcdn.net...2a&oe=59C5BE21 https://scontent-atl3-1.xx.fbcdn.net...54&oe=59DF6101 https://scontent-atl3-1.xx.fbcdn.net...9c&oe=59CAAC43 |
