Stockton gives me the creeps, looks like a nice place to become dead very quietly. :)

Just had a job interview in Newy !! Seems like everyone is after a new job here. Went OK, we'll see what happens by Friday.

dbuckingham144 02-23-05 07:50 PM

Climbo good luck with it. I have my interview next Wednesday. Applying for another position today (trying to fill out the application criteria so I can send it off before the close date).

Brian 02-23-05 07:56 PM

I have an interview tomorrow. Looking up all around, hey?

dbuckingham144 02-23-05 08:02 PM

Well fingers crossed soon we may all be able to have a beer in celebration!

The only prob with applying for jobs is filling out the applications. Last one turned into a 23 page document to answer the selection criteria, I am upto about 3 pages on this one, but have only answered two questions..... better be worth it :D

Nice day outside, looking forward to the ride this afternoon!

Anyone down there race the track, Dave? There are so many tracks and big races down there (way down in Tas I mean). They pay some big money and attract all the top riders, must be a good place to ride in summer. 2 guys I used to race with in the States went down there for the summer which I thought was good to see, attracting riders from a long way away with good $$$, young guys too, not as good as the Aussies though. :D

Not so many in Hobart. The north of the state is where all the track guys play. Luanceston, Devenport, Burnie. They sure do put some $$$ into track events up there. There is the Hobart 'Bikes and Spikes' each year, and we got some seppo's down for that, but a young girl from Launceston cleaned up the womens.

Selection criteria for government jobs? I keep a word doc handy with answers to all the selection criteria questions I've been asked so far. I cut and paste them in, so I can apply in about 5 minutes. I've applied for 3 TAFE jobs all at once using my system.

Thanks for the suggestion.

I called them and they quoted $135.

Still cheaper for me to fly over. =\

Wish I could do that, but thus far have not been able to re-use to much for they were/are very specific questions pertaining to each job. The other thing is that they are different positions as well, so the questions are directed a different way. Will have a re-read of some of the other ones though and see if i can do some more re-use though.

In case I manage to get my sorry arse there, can someone confirm the details without me having to trawl the thread?

was it 2.30pm Sunday at Cafe Racer?

531Aussie 02-23-05 09:43 PM

That was Hitchy's suggestion to Dave.
Has Dave confirmed?

Look for the fat bloke on the unused Scapin.

531Aussie 02-23-05 09:52 PM

I'm tippin' you're about as "fat" as I calimed to be:p

I'm 87kg at 182cm, which is obese by my standards.
I shouldn't be gettin' 'round in tight lycra.

Hey 531,

I did a recalc on YTD distance -- after the 100-miler on Sunday. Up to 2100km (a bit shy of that 1600 I was talking about). Hope to get another 100-miler in at the weekend (eighth for the year), so I might get close to 2500 for YTD. :)

May I suggest good 'ol Australia Post?

Hitchy, Nev, I'm a probable 'no' for this weekend. I'm already riding with some mates on Sundee mornin' up somewhere torturous in the Dandinongs. Prickz are picking me up at 7am. That's just not right.

Enough showing off Rowan. I just checked mine, I'll be just over 850km when I get home tonight. But considering I only did about 1600 from august to december, that's not too bad. And not riding for the first 2 weeks of the year doesn't help either.
