I used Toll to bring a bike from Brisbane. Cost me $75. Firefly quoted me $20. Adelaide Depot to Melbourne Depot. The girl on the phone told me they always go by weight, not size. Which is outstanding when we're talking about 2kg spinergy wheels. =) Thanks again. |

What happened to the Mexicans? They must be sleeping off the effects of riding so hard. |

actually, I might need a stem also, I'll check my stock at home but don't think I have one to match. 130mm.

Hmmm.[sounds of footsteps and creaking of shed door...]

Ok, the bars aren't a true (Darth Vader) black. They're like Guiness colored I guess. Only one spare stem in the cheap bin right now. I found it, photo'd it, resized in Photoshop and FTP'd it in what, 3 minutes?
[edit] ok, so it was 10 minutes http://www.ozbikesports.com/images/stem.jpg |
To further amuse you guys, I just figured out why I have such a hard time finding bike tires on ebay.au. :)
|
jeez, it's beefy, is it 130 ? The bar sounds good though.

Ooops. Center to center is 110mm. Yeah there's heaps of tyres on ebay.au, but not much in the way of tires.

I'll take the bar then, make me a pile, still gotta get back to you on the other stuff. |
The pump stuff has to be ordered from the US. Speaking of shipping, does anyone know where I can get a box 5cmx5cmx10m? I need to ship a garden hose.

Good idea. As I recall, there was a company that always measure the flag poles standing up, not laying down. They wanted to know how tall they were, not how long they were.

Expat, you have interview today?
|
Yup. 1:30.
|
Excellent, good luck with it.

Thanks. They're only interviewing one other bloke, so if I see you going in as I'm leaving, don't be surpised if I punch you in the gut. Nothing personal or anything. :D

And check out the threads on the guy riding around the world on a fixed gear, he's lugging a trailer of gear and has done the US, he's now in NZ, coming to Oz to tackle the nullabor soon. He has a site at http://www.gordontaylor.co.uk/ He's a mad Scot like pshaw !!! I'm gonna invite him round for haggis and let him wash his kilt :D |
By now Expat will have completed the pleasantries and will soon break out in a nervous sweat as the questions begin. Don't you just love the pressure you can put yourself under in an interview situation?
