8.30/9.00 sheeeesh, I'd be awake at 3am. I meant to be in bed by 9.30 for a 5.15 getup but I got involved and lost track I didn't sleep well either, not sure why. bummer.

I should probably set the w/trainer up and spin for an hour but the other half would freek as we're expecting the grandkids up tomorrow and she'd be dark if I 'messed the place up'. Could do it on the verandah though. mmmmmmmm 9.15, got to be in bed by 9.30 I'll do it in the morning.

No OTB action on the BMX. I went over a jump and landed on the next one. According to the missus it was looking like a pretty exciting race until then.

Yup, the waking up early thing does happen but only when your ready to race (in my limited experience).

As for timing, well you've just got to manage it so that the missus doesn't think you're a ravin loon and call in the divorce lawyers. Results on race day help in this regard, but results are always eroded 5:1 by any training ride that inconveniences her.

I handed the wife the envelope. She laffed again. One day there'll be a cheque for a million bucks.

The seat's only about 4 inches high. It's sole purpose on a BMX appears to be keep the post from poking uranus. Never gets near the boys.

It's not the seat you have to worry about, it's the pedals. All those little teeth *has childhood flashback*

Hmmmm... teeth... pain...

I had Osgood-Schlatter's Disease as a kid, a common growth or overuser injury of the upper tibia. It's bloody painful and lasts for 2-3years. I was bored one day, so to add to the misery I borrowed a mates BMX with its nice sharp metal teeth. I dunno how, but I managed to slip off one of the pedals any it spun around under the full force of my other leg and whacked me right under the sore spot.

The pain was indescribable, and I have a nice shiny scar as a reminder.

I'd rather be in B grade, but I'm not allowed to play with the big boys yet. Found out why in the race when little Pete dropped me like I was standing still on his gear restricted Felt. Was hoping he could stay away for the win, but the bastards decided to work on the second lap.

I got a wake-up call anyway. 1 training session does not maketh the man.

My training time on wed was up there with C-grade winner from last week. Unfortunatley I think your winning time dropped by about 10+ mins. Still my own time dropped a fair chunk and sustained HR was 10bpm higher but made me realise the importance of miles on the bike.
Quite funny really, how much time did I spend watching chains etc to find out what gear/cadence I should be aiming for only to run out of legs on a hill and then run out of gears pushing the big ring when i should have been spinning along.

Less focus on racing more on training methinks .

Yes those steel teethed nasties can cause some hurt that is for sure, experienced that myself a few times. Another good one is when the old jumper tied around the waste gets jammed in the back wheel when going up a jump. Always fun reversing back down the jump on your arse!

What happened in the different football codes on the weekend. Tahs and Brumbies! knights, HAH! The Tahs was my biggest issue, the last 10 minutes of that game was pretty intense. Had some white knuckle fever going on the coffee table trying to will them on, especially that bloody kick from Rogers! Argh! so close. Will it be the usual mid season slump? i hope not!

Kevlar reinforced racing pants are the hot ticket. No blood, as they blunt the blow of the pedals. Instead, I have a lump the size of a football, and a very deep bruise that should surface fully in a few days. But my pride is intact. Oh, cheers to you, Munchie.

If they don't make the semi-finals from here they never will. The Brumbies are going to struggle though.
