I slamdanced for 25 miles one time.
I'm not sure how many total miles I've done in a day, I just finished all the rides I set out to do.

325 km in 10:34, STP 2009. Some needlessly long rest stops interrupted the proceedings, but I wasn't the leader of our pack and just tried to be a team player. Pretty good ride time, though, I figure.

101 miles. A century is plenty for me. I always start really hurting at mile 90.

As for distance, I did 109 miles at Cool Breeze thanks to the group adding a warm up by Casitas. I intend to make it about 125 miles this Saturday.

My longest ride was 142 miles, but it had 5+ hours at OVER 105*, AND I ran out of water. AND I was on a touring bike with 30 lbs of gear. Luckily it mostly downhill from Donner Lake to Sacramento.
My second-longest ride was 2 days before: 127.21 miles, from Sacramento to Donner Lake. 10,000 feet of climbing with 30 lbs of gear.
A quick side note to all those who eat Clif Bars: On the way up, I met this guy who was on an Orbea Orca, with full Di2 and Zipp 404 clinchers, so we rode along for awhile. We got to talking about long rides - turns out the longest ride he was ever on was 175 miles. You know on the back of the Clif Bar the story about riding 175 miles with his friend Jay and not being able to take another bite of "other" energy bars? Well, the guy I was with was Jay! Pretty cool.

120 miles for me.
I have no aspirations of doing more than that in a day. I'd rather cap it at about 100, actually. But more 100 mile days per year is something I aspire to.

I participated in the 24 Hours of Booty ride in Charlotte NC which is a charity event that raises funds for cancer. I had a goal of 300 miles. If I completed it I had a donor who would give donate $3,000. The ride is a 2.97 mile loop in the Queens College area of town. Simple route with two small climbs. The event begins at 7:00 pm Friday and ends 7:00 pm Saturday. Since I came from TX I rode it alone for the most part.
Here’s the stats:
Total distance: 283 miles, that’s the equivalent of riding from Houston to North of the Texas Arkansas border.
Event Time: 24 hours. 7:00 pm Friday – 7:00 pm Saturday.
Saddle time: 18 hours 20 minutes. 5 Hours and 40 min was spent eating, drinking and resting.
Avg course speed: 15.7 mph
Max speed: 38.6 mph (down hill) pedaling as fast as I could around 12:30 pm.
Calories burned: 21,250. You read it right. That’s like eating 135 Twinkies and not having to worry about it.
Leg cramps: None until after the ride having dinner at a hamburger restaurant. I’m sure I looked funny sitting in the chair withering in pain.
Total single day weight loss: 14.69 pounds. Just like prior rides, I will put this weight back on and then some in the coming weeks. This begs the question…is cycling really helping me if I gain the weight back plus a few pounds each time. As I have said before, I need to change my diet..
Flat tires, crashes, or other mechanical problems: ZERO!! Thank goodness.
Sunburn: A little. It was really warm during the day. I lost so much weight through sweating that you could see the salt on my jersey, shorts and everywhere else.
Most inspirational moment: Watching a young man who was in his teens who lost his legs due to cancer in a wheelchair powered by his arms. He would crank the peddles like a bike with his hands to make his chair go around the course. He had three teenage buddies who rode with him at his pace to ensure he was never left alone on the ride. To see this group of young men was inspirational.
The worst thing heard during the ride: “On your left.” I heard that so much that Saturday I wanted to puke. I tried to make a game of it by picking off riders in front of me and passing them but it did not work as the hours dragged by. I was being picked off way more than people I picked off.
Finally, the most important numbers, drum roll please!
Pledge donation total: $5,241.00 and counting.
I lost count of my millage during the ride. I thought I was at 250 plus or minus a few miles. So the last four hours I thought I could not get to my goal so I took it easy. Had I known I was that close I would have pushed harder and gotten the extra 5 or six laps to get me to 300. So much for doing math with little to no sleep and on the verge of total exhaustion. I was so disappointed after I calculated the millage back at the hotel. I need a better plan of the next time to help keep track of laps/mileage when my Garmin powers down.
It was well worth it, I will do anything to help stop cancer.

I usually start about 5 am if I'm going to do a double century. They've taken me anywhere from 16-18 hours to do.

112 miles...i really don't see much need to ride more than a century on a very long day.

It's not about "need", it's about the fun of being on your bicycle all day long and just riding and riding and riding and enjoying nature and the scenery and your own thoughts, and not having to work or do housework or do homework or anything like that.

There's an annual double century (322km) from Toronto-Niagara falls-Toronto that I do.
My best time was 11 hours 30 minutes.

even then a century is a good 6 hours and by myself I don't really want to ride much longer than that. I get bored, even looking at the scenery after 6 hours. Could probably add 2 hours on that if I had a ride partner with me. Otherwise I have no desire to ride much longer than that. I'm also usually in the mindset of a racer on most rides where if I have time to enjoy the scenery I'm not working hard enough.

I've done two doubles and the discomfort felt in the last 30 miles or so was almost unbearable. I was literally riding flats with harder gears just so I could pedal standing up... It took me two times to realize that I don't think I will ever be comfortable riding that far. Right around mile 80 I am usually thinking (ah this is almost over)...50-60 seems to be my maximum comfort zone distance wise...

152 miles on a mostly flat route. Shorter (60-70 mile) rides with lots of elevation felt like they were much more difficult.

i've done 150 miles twice
once from FC to empire via trail ridge and berthoud pass
once from FC to frisco via left hand canyon, peak to peak, and loveland pass
the former wasnt so bad. jsut a couple of hard steady climbs with a long mellow mid section, the latter included 14000 feet of climbing and was my hardest day on the bike.
