Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

No. First off, do you even have a mountain bike? Secondly, no. Thirdly, get yourself there. We're driving 5.5 hours to it.

As if.

OK, where in NY?

Oh come on.. it's only 6 hours total on the bike. 1-2 hours at a time, the rest of the time hanging out with others doing the same thing.

On a road bike, fine. On a mountain bike in the woods, not.

It's bad when you set a login/password and then don't remember what it is the next day.

It took me about six tries to get back in.

Another cycling thread @ Fark.

It's interesting reading when cyclists and non-cyclists clash.

Some interesting responses on there, but I would expect no less from the anti-cyclist crowd. I always get mocked in some way buy people for riding to work and how much better driving or taking public transportation is more comfortable.

3K approaches.

They better not merge this thread with another thread. Friggin power crazed Mod Nazis. And people ask me why I don't want to be a Mod.

Pcad will not risk his BF Purity in such futile pursuits. Besides, I'd have to ban myself and botto.

I don't think people are taking this thread seriously, despite the weighty nature of addictions.

Whatever happened to the OCP banter, anyway?

And all the Campy/Shimano debates?

This place has gone downhill.
