Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

! would take your time with the cervelo, build it up when you find other awesome deals and try to bring it in under $800. As a bonus you will finally have a place to stick your aerobars (take them off the 1.5 now!)

fulcrum 7s are half price $400>200 at competative cyclist, if you need wheels on the cheap.

Doesn't it though? I'm amazed they sell so many of those S3's with the S2 available for $1500 less. Bike weenies do have EPS (Exploding Pocket Syndrome). We used to see even more of that in the high end car biz. I spend money on bike stuff, but the deals I get make sense. To me.

Please don't deny me my delusions they are all that's left.

Tomorrow was supposed to be a 110 mile ride, but thanks to the closure of Black Meadow Road, it will be more like 115+ miles. I've never ridden that far before. Climbing Mt. Doom with 115 miles in my bike weenie legs will be interesting.

I have learned that losing weight isn't about starving. It's about never letting yourself get hungry. So now I'm getting skinny.

Oh man you are all totally effed.

Effed, effed, effed.

By July 4 I'll look like friggin C. Bale in The Machinist.

Bikes: Have two wheels

Yeah, well tonight's ride was supposed to include two more miles of hills near the end, but I felt like sh*t. So, I cancelled that and took the route with the rollers instead.

Still, it was a good ride.

holy****, $250 for a cervelo frame? From the pics, it looks like it's a s1 frameset, which retails at $1200 minimum. If you decide not to pick it up, pass it along lol, I am due for a update myself and waiting for the 2010 s2 frameset to drop in price.

Don't hold your breath. That overstock situation was last year's news.

Yea, I am sticking with my current bike (specialized tarmac) for another year so I can get the 2010 s2 frameset mid 2011. The current price of $3100 on CC is just outrageous, and the lowest price I have seen is $2500 listed on a site that looks too shady.

By the way, what site or where do you guys look for deals on framesets or groupos?

What else does he have? By the way, yours is a p1 frameset which is still one hell of a deal because nowadays you can't even get a pair of decent shifter for $250 let alone a frame set lol

Excel just sold their last 2009 56. $1900. Incredible price and thankfully it's gone. Still some 54s left.

1) Haven't we told you enough, it's not about the goddam bike. You want be any faster on your new bike and honestly it probably would have been smarter to save the money, because you're going to need it for chain, cassette, tire, race entries, etc.
2) You do realize that's a time trial frame correct? You can't "throw the stuff from the 1.5 on there" and expect a standard road bike.

Good grief--not much clearance between the rear tire and the seat tube.

If you get too fat and the frame starts bowing you're going to have a problem.

well if you ever want to get rid of your frame you can make some money selling it to someone here I am sure.

As far as it being a TT frame the seat setup in the latest pic looks like it is setup for the road anyhow. I believe those seat posts do some funny business to bring it farther foward in TT mode

you can trhow most of the 1.5 stuff on if you want, the only "choice" you have to make is if you want the 1.5 drop bars or if you want a TT base bar for a TT rig.

If you opt for the TT rig mikey has a small point in that they don't use brifters, then you will need new TT shifters and brake levers. The good news is these are much cheaper than real shifters. This will also mean a new cable kit.

It's gonna be hot tomorrow. Wife wants to get 100, but I think we'll end up with 80. She wants to start when the sun comes up. That's just nutty for a Saturday. Crazy woman.

Be careful what tires you run on your new Cervelo. Clearance is tight.
