Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Since we're talking about spell checkers, my computer (or browser, not sure) does not know the word "time". It always underlines it. That's annoying.

Dude - WTF? My shoes were supposed to be delivered today, but UPS tracking says that it's going to be delayed due to a "TRAIN DERAILMENT," which seems to be UPS-speak for, "$#!t, we're running a little late on this one."

One shoe probably fell out of the train during the derailment.

Grrrr.

Scott changed the spec on the Addict R2. Now it comes with a compact crank. They have Fredded it down.

I just watched a video on the Scott website about their formidable women's pro team, including E. Stevens, the woman who dropped me on the finishing Hook Mtn. climb at the end of the Nyack Ride two years ago. Hey, if you're going to get dumped by a babe on a bicycle, at least try to make it a top world class pro.

I think it's quite arguable that Scott is getting more exposure for their product from this thread than that stupid woman's team. So where's my free clothing, bicycle and pricey aero wheels?

Bikes: Have two wheels

Watching sports on TV is dumb.

Except F1 and the major Tours, of course.

Even though watching the Mets on TV is dumb, I still do it. Daily. And I watch the Jets. And the Giants. And the bicycle races.

I am such a friggin typical American male couch slob. When I'm not riding my road bike 300 miles a week.

Gotta learn to keep your expectations low. Fewer disappointments that way.

I think F1 and Pro-Cycling are compatible: Elite-level competition. Full of primadonnas. Obsessed fans. Most of the best races are in Europe. Americans largely don't care about either of them.
