Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Great photo! Did the HTC Columbia rider's front wheel just snap? Obviously this isn't the case, but the picture almost makes it look like the pavement melted, the wheel sank in, and then the pavement hardened again....

Forget it, it would never work. coasting would turn around at the sight of the first hill and BJ would want to stop every two miles to adjust his helmet mirrors.

Tonight I'm following this car down a long hill. There was marijuana smoke wafting out of the windows. I haven't had a toke in 20 years and it smelled good to me. I should ride the MTB more.

You smoked when you were 40?

PS I just joined a racing club...i was holding out for the Bauer invite, but had to take matters into my own hands as my mid pack cat 5 finishes apparently aren't impressing them.

I'm actually really sore from my clipless pedal fail on sunday. There's a bump the size of a baseball on my hip and my right shoulder hurts to move.

Exactly. Peanut butter sandwiches and long rides in the countryside. I lost a lot of weight that year.

So I'm on the MUP tonight, hammering on the S2, when I see one of those incredibly annoying sub-Fred OC Sherriff idiots up ahead on a MTB. The posted limit on the trail is 20mph, and I have an axe to grind with the OC Sherriff Dept. So I dial it up tp 500+ watts which is good for about 27 mph, holler 'Left Side' and blow past him. Catch me if you can you friggin fatboy gumshoe hoser.

No, maybe I should do that. I plan on going on a 6 am ride tomorrow anyway. Note that I have set my alarm every day for the past 2 months and actually got up once.

Anyway, yeah, I'll try ice.

Because they once arrested me for indecent exposure for peeing behind a tree. Idiots. The OC D.A. took one look at the charges in court, turned to my lawyer and said 'This is a piece of shlit, I'm not going to prosecute this' and the charges were essentially dismissed on the spot.
